Why did English Conservatives abandon him? And will he survive this vote of no confidence?
It looks like he is trying to Putin his way out of situation. But he is in the wrong country. What are the odds that he can survive? I don't know much about British politics.
The powerful 1922 Committee of backbench Tory MPs has moved forward its planned elections to next Monday, with MPs backing rule changes seeking to take over the executive in their bid to oust Mr Johnson.
If successful, they are likely to immediately scrap the rules that currently protect Mr Johnson from a no-confidence vote until June 2023.

He will not survive long. I can think of 3 things straight away.
1. He tried to prorogue parliament a few years ago. 2. Partygate 3. This mishandling of the Pincher case.
The opposition leader could move a motion of no confidence, voted on be the whole of the commons. He could call a snap election, although unlikely. As you say, it will most likely be a change of rules by the new 1922 comittee.
We are royally screwed. But British folks will always eventually do what is best for British folks. In America, our politics is driven by one group's need to see others suffer.
I really couldn't care if this puppet with an ego the size of mars go. He no doubt things he's indispensable and can pretty much get away with murder by now, let's face it he hasn't been held to account hitherto. While the population has the blinkers on.
Another just like him will replace him.

Scandal after scandal and he still refuses to resign. This man has no decency or any sense of responsibility, especially as the prime minister. It baffles me how people are okay with it and making excuses for him, regardless of political affiliation.
Boris Johnson, because of his repeated lies and attempts to cover up sexual misconduct by some members of his cabinet, his government lost total confidence in him (so many of his ministers resigned), and he resigned as Prime Minister today (7 Jun 2022).
He seems to have the feeling that he can lie to the government and the people and get away with it. Not uncommon these days. We're still waiting for the £350 million a week to go into the NHS.
I think he'll probably be gone soon, but who knows who will replace him?
Politics like anything is all about trends, you have to look after your friends, Boris seems to be making a lot of enemies, many European nations are very apprehensive about what's going on in the world, this fear and apprehension has political consequences.
It has happened 3 times in Australian politics in the last twenty years. When the economy is doing poorly, or the people start crying about something, you just blame the party leader, and oust him or her. Brexit was very practical, Britian was getting abused by the other European countries. Now they have the legal right to control the migration of people into the country.
This is America. Not many people care about economic policy. They do culture wars and that's it.
So it is very odd to folks here. In fact, if Johnson was here, he would be getting good marks. He fought against Covid, He was one of the first out in front in terms of Ukraine. He did a lot of good things. That's why Britain will always come out on top. They actually make demands of leadership.
Only plebs care about culture wars, those arselickers that raided those government buildings after trump got the boot, they were plebs, the looting when BLM movement was at its height, plebs. I watched a YouTube focus group about disgruntled trump supporters, all middle class Anglo European of background, all pissed off with trump, all voted for trump, all pissed off with Biden, none of them could shut the fuck up when others were talking. You guys just get too emotional about politics, you guys got to chill out.
Just look at the haircut! The eternal Oxbridge frat fuck with a "who, me?" attitude.

Every political career ends in failure or retirement in Britain. Boris is getting the treatment his predecessor got. he's tried to bluff partygate out but the people on the street are pissed off so theirs bloid in the water
Boris has had 4 years I think Threasea May has 2. David Cameron had 4. Not sure what the American equivalent is for the PM position. Boris managed to oust Cameron his mortal enemy and then May to get for years. Conservatives have been in power for 12 years and probably will be in for another 4 so it's a pretty good run but when a Prime minister is pushed by the party it usually means the Party believes he lacks the political capital to win the next election or will cost them votes. Labour was previously in power for 13 years under Blair. The Conservatives have generally been in power the last 100 years.
well that's very true... just the mere fact that they do reserve the right and chance as a party, to just fire someone they no longer deem fit for the task, lol... which would be something unthinkable here at the States
