First, I really hate this topic. Everyone is so damn extreme these days you can't have an honest discussion. It has gotten so bad that proponents of pro-choice (pro-abortion, might as well call it what it is rather than give it a cherry name) refuse to hear anything a man has to say about it even though it very much affects a man. Having said that...
Abortion does NOT need to be outlawed. It should require a legit reason to be performed. Such as, life threatening, severe deformity, rape (which should have the day after, not 6 months later) and length of term to be determined per each state.
Abortion should NOT be legal for women who want abortions just because they don't want it.
But of course, that is a center view, and since my views are not extreme enough, nobody will ever listen and this world will just keep on being fucked.00 Reply

The more important question is are there actually blue states? Once the election fraud is cleaned up, there won't be many of them if any of them...

@Cherry234 You say that, but oddly enough, the kind of people I have met in Red States are on a much different level in terms of respect and kindness as opposed to people who live in Blue States who are a hell of a lot more disrespectful and rude.
There is always a flip side to that coin. More civilized, sure... I'll give you that, more self entitled and rude as f**k... seems to go hand in hand with more "civilized." - +1 y
Against abortion? See it's either all in or ot at all, eh? Has it ever occurred to you that some people aren't absolutists? This is what I really hate about you Left and Right wing type of people, it's either all in or not at all with you. Neither of you even stop to consider that some of us aren't as extreme as the rest of you and you BOTH put us in a political box. It really pisses me off to no end.
To be clear, there is only one type of abortion that I am not on board with, and that is if a woman is getting an abortion just because she doesn't want the child and has no legit reason for aborting it other than she just doesn't want the responsibility. But you know, that's not good enough for the Left who says any type of disagreement with abortion makes me a Right winger and the Right wingers tell me that any type of agreement with abortion makes me a Left winger. Screw both of you. I'm neither. I didn't join your little clubs. I think for myself, I don't let some stupid ass political party do my thinking for me. - +1 y
@Cherry234 Also, I didn't say that because of abortion, I said that because of people's personalities in general in Blue vs Red states. Red states have more of a "Howdy!" attitude, where as Blue states have more of a "Get outta my way!" attitude... in general. My experiences of these states have absolutely nothing to do with abortion. I was simply responding to your, "blue states are more civilized that the red states." which is kind of funny, because that was the reason the Europeans used to justify the mass murder of Native Americans. All one has to do is see the other as nonhuman by calling them less civilized to disregard the other group's civil rights. And as much as an absolutist as you are portraying yourself to be on abortion rights, you can't blame somebody for caring about babies who will never get a chance at life because their mothers decided to abort. You don't have to agree with it, but surely you can understand where their passion is coming from.

It's ok if some people are against abortion. I don't expect everyone to agree with it but I don't like anyone taking away a woman's right to choose. Abortion should be legal during all stages of pregnancy. I'm not exactly "pro-abortion." I don't believe in abortion on demand during all stages of pregnancy. I say abortion should be legal during all stages of pregnancy because there are exceptional circumstances during a late term pregnancy where something may be seriously wrong with the fetus or the mother's health/life is at risk. Those should always be exceptions for late term abortions. Many pro-choice people don't support late term abortion. And there are pro-choice right wing people. They exist and some of them are on here. That doesn't make them any less conservative.

@Cherry234 I can pretty much agree with almost everything you stated, with one exception. If somebody wants to have a late term abortion, I think it should be approved by either a medical professional (preferably female so men don't get the blame if the answer is no) in medical cases, and perhaps some sort of speedy method by a clinic of sorts for other reasons non-medical. There should be certain criteria that is very reasonable.
I find most solutions can be found where perhaps not everyone will be happy with the outcome, but at very least both sides won't walk away feeling as if they were dumped on. Compromise it what has held this country together for as long as it has. I remember a time when nobody even really cared who you voted for, or what team you played for (political affiliations) and people didn't hate one another based on which side they are on. Hell, nobody accused me of being left or right until after this whole thing with Trump vs Obama thing got started, then turning in to Trump vs Hilary. I thought to myself, 'people will lighten up once Trumps term ends...' Sadly people are still at each other's throats and America is still in disarray.
That situation seemed to have permeated even though the core genesis of what spawned the hatred among Americans is no longer in power. I personally would like to see people be willing to compromise again; because even I have lost friends who I miss very very much, all because my view on a particular subject didn't align with theirs. How many friends have you lost over politics? How much did you care about those friends before everyone ran off and got all political?
People getting back to a more compromise way of thinking is the only way to bring this country back. Anyway, I have rambled your ear off enough, take care and glad we could find some common ground in this discussion.

It should neither be banned or barred.
Choice / Freedom to that choice regardless of morale, religious, or political influences.
You want to ban abortion, sure, ban guns too, and maybe religion.
By banning someones right to do something that is occurring to them either by their choice or not, is essentially banning rights to other things you may think are important to you and others as well.
Don't ban a choice unless you want another banned in kind.
10 Reply6.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Only if somehow the Republicans are able to pass a national ban. The country may fall apart before then. The nation is growing ever more scalar, Red states like Texas and Georgia are trending Democratic as the old white men die off.
21 Reply5.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Banned in full? Probably not, even most red states aren't going that far, and even the ones that are banning them entirely are not banning life-saving procedures that are known to induce a miscarriage.

Asker+1 yI don't know the political landscape of my state? Abortion is advertised by schools, churches, parks, airports, and we are the only state that pays for women to abortions from out of state (keep in mind sex work is legal in the biggest city in my state). Kind of a moderate state towards taxes so I don't know?

Asker+1 yIf you live in a blue state and are against abortion you could hope, otherwise it would be strange like if someone from Texas cared about fetuses in Oregon.
Opinion Owner+1 yWe care about all life. Not just about people in Texas.
Asker+1 yIf you live in a red state you don't really care about women in New York, and the on the West Coast having abortions. New Jersey (not really a blue state) has the highest abortion rate through.
Will abortion be illegal in the US ever again?
