Voted C, though at any given moment in history one may be more of a threat than the other. That said, in terms of their methods, both are more or less the same thing although very different theoretical ideas motivate each.

In the case of Socialism and Communism - to use those two examples - the motivating force is the idea is that the war between social/economic classes is the driving force in History - with a capital "H." (National Socialism - also a philosophy of the left, substitutes the war between races for the war between classes.) Also, inherent in this is that man can be remade in a predetermined image. That human character is malleable according to its environment and that it is possible to change the environment and thereby change man.

Suffice to say, this makes leftist ideologies prone to a stark totalitarianism. The whole of society is subject to the power of the ruling elite, and more to the point, that elite can tolerate no deviation. Thus media, culture, education, politics, law - every aspect of society must be controlled by the elite in order to re-engineer society and remake man.

The philosophies of the right, on the other hand, can be equally brutal but from far different motives. (Please note, by the way, that Fascism is actually a philosophy of the left. Although it emphasizes the primacy of the state, it makes the state the instrument of the party elite. Also, Fascism and National Socialism - current usage notwithstanding - are NOT the same things.)

The best summation of the dictatorships of the right was a description of Francisco Franco's rise to power in Spain. He waged brutal civil war, destroyed his enemies, and climbed his way to the top and then he - - - - - stopped. The established institutions of society were locked into place - save the monarchy which had been toppled, but which Franco ultimately declared his own regime to be a regency.

No dissent from, or reform of, those institutions was tolerated. The intermediary institutions of society - schools, the Church, etc. - were allowed to function so long as they did not challenge the supremacy of the state. In a nutshell, where the philosophies of the extreme left tend to totalitarianism, the philosophies of the extreme right tend to authoritarianism. The former being all encompassing, the latter making some room for the intermediary institutions of society.

Superficially, then, this would seem to suggest that leftist dictators would be the more brutal. Yet both employ the same methods and it is not apt, as those who survived Stalin and those who survived Franco can attest, for life to feel much different under one as the other.

The problem being that both place absolute power in the hands of fallible beings. Further that societies, in order to flourish, must be able to balance freedom and authority. This the extreme philosophies of left and right do not do.

The bottom line is that both extreme left and extreme right give vent to the worst of human nature and this conduces to neither human progress nor social peace. Though at the moment the extreme left, with its' visions of the remaking of man, has a greater appeal and is a more immediate threat.

"If ye eat of the fruit of the tree, ye shall be as gods..." The left wing totalitarians seek to be "as gods." To put it another way, the left wing dictator is "a self-made man who worships his creator." Suffice to say, much bloodshed and misery has followed. Whereas the right wing dictator seeks to freeze man in place, and thus squelch the creativity and humanity that makes man unique and not merely a cog in the machine.

Fascism worries me more as it is a clear and present danger, and so many are unwilling to accept the results of elections.

Trump, before both of the elections he participated in, refused to state that he would accept the result of the election (unless he won, naturally).

Democracy and the rule of law are the most important requirements. You really need a constitutional amendment to exclude from the Supreme Court any "justice" that didn't receive 60% or 66% of the votes in the Senate. Preferably retroactive.

You can treat with distrust anyone who claims National Socialism (Nazism) is a leftist ideology. Literally nobody at the time believed that and they were fervent enemies of the communists of the time. They claimed popular positions in order to secure votes, with no intention of carrying them out. @Exterminatore The French party is called Rassemblement nationale (before it was used to be named Front National). Lead by Marine Le Pen.
Basically they're for shorts working time 35 hours a week or less, retirement at 60 years old (instead of the 62 years old we have and that Macron want to put at 65).
There's lots of "communist" idea in the far right party of France though the aid would only be reserved for the real French people not the others. The foreigner living in France would need to pay for absolutely everything and no aid at all. They want to expulse all foreigner, ban all religious sign (like veil, hijab, etc...) except the Christian one. No building any Mosque or synagogue.
Basically they want France to be back to being a White Christian country, they're supported by Putin, are against liberalism, They also want to expulse the gypsies, give more power to the police (policemen are literally going to prison for self defense), etc...

I am American. I have no problem with foreigners, so long as they come legally. Illegal immigration is a huge problem. Forcing you own people to compete with foreign nationals for jobs and wages is deplorable. Forcing your people to pay for them with taxes is equally reprehensible.

I am however against Muslims immigration. Why would I want people who think I should die because I don’t share their religious beliefs in my country? That’s dangerous and stupid without proper vetting.

I also favor banning all religions except Christianity. I consider myself to be a clerical fascist. My aligence and servitude is to Christ before any nation. After Christ my aligence is to America. Scripture says the worship of false gods is the worship of demons, for the love of Christ and country and countrymen I want all other religions banned.

Race is not an important issue to me. While I am staunchly against homosexuality and think it should be illegal, I do not support beating gays up. I do find homosexuality to be repulsive and in fact evil, but do not support physical violence for it. As I see it, it’s a sin. Who amongst us has not sinned? Some of us have even sin gravely. I also know Jesus would not approve of this. I do notice in reading scripture that Jesus did in fact confront sin. He didn’t mince words, however I don’t see him breathing anyone up who was a sinner of any type. We must follow his example. We can call it evil and disgusting, but we must encourage the homosexual to repent. Teach them they are sinning. That their behavior is disgusting to God and the rest of us. If I had my way I’d see it outlawed and I’d see anyone caught in the act, anyone teaching homosexuality is good, anyone celebrating it or endorsing it either heavily fined or jailed and likewise fined or jailed for subsequent offense. Homosexuality like transgenderism I do not see as being born that way as there is no evidence. I do not think either are a genuine mental illness. Rather I think it’s a choice. In regards to slavery, I like to be as fair and objective as possible. It is 100% true that Africans sold other Africans as slaves. That said, there is no seller without a buyer.

Slavery ended technically In 1863 with Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, and effectively in 1865 with the end of the American Civil War. That’s 159 years ago. That would mean the blacks living today, it was their 2nd in some cases and 3rd in most cases, great grandfathers who were slaves. How in any way is this relevant today?

On top of that, I didn’t buy slaves, I didn’t own any, and I don’t support slavery, there for I’m not guilty. My 3rd great grandfather and 2 of my 3rd great grand uncles fought on the Union side in the American Civil War to end slavery. So, if I’m guilty because I’m white 159 years later for slavery, then I’m made innocent 159 years later on account of my ancestors.

The other problem with any form of fascism is totalitarianism. The government or any institution or person. What I do have a problem with is the allowance to speak and promote sin. To speak to promote the destruction of our country from within. I do not think you should be allowed to undermine the country or endorse people maiming themselves permanently. Should we be allowed to tell people to invert their penis? That’s harmful to them isn’t it? What if they change their mind? If you must love your neighbor as yourself, how can it be right to encourage them to both sin and do irreparable damage to themselves. The same holds true with a few of our other rights. Should we be free to get stoned on legal weed. And if we were to make these things illegal, should there not be very severe penalties for some of this? Undermining the country is called treason, not exercising a right. Abortion is murder. Should we let a murder off with a mere fine if convicted or should we execute the murder also?

So as I see it, it seems we cannot handle freedom. What good is freedom when it becomes a means of enslavement to every godless passion and desire? What good is freedom when those freedoms can be used against the country?

I see this stuff and do not think we can sustain as a nation, as a people if we continue. We cannot have wide spread degeneracy.

Or take for example freedom of religion. I stand against this. If it were my way one could worship God or nothing. I’d make no prohibition against any Christian denomination, however can I endorse the freedom to worship Allah? Buddha? One of the Hindu gods as a Christian? I cannot not. Idol worship is the worship of demons as the Bible tells us. If I were this nations leader and I had full control, how could I allow demon worship?

The main things Republicans have in common with fascists is social conservatism. Here we both see nearly eye to eye. Strong punishment for crime, particularly violent crime. These things were meant to demonstrate God’s wisdom to the nations. The nations were to look at Israel and see that they are wise and they are wise because God has made them so.
