Manchin was quoted saying that inflation should be the government's top priority. Poll after poll confirms that the American people believe the same thing. He may be the only one in the party that is doing their job.

no idea. he's playing to the pain.
are his fingers and toes crossed under the table? the govt is the one causing the inflation. Democrats love inflation... the people they represent go hungry, have a hard time affording places to live and it works them into a fervor. they can blame it all on the republicans... assign social spending to care for their "flock", and come out smelling like roses... until the next round of social costs hits someone's pockets.
I think that can only be decided by the democratic party of West Virginia.
If he wants to remain a Democrat, there’s not much the party’s leadership can do about it. And I doubt they’d want him to leave.
At the state level, Connecticut democrats tried ditching Joe Lieberman and it backfired badly.
The "job" is to do what's best for America 🇺🇸 and I don't know if I ever seen a single democrat doing THAT

There are a lot more moderates on both sides than either side is willing to admit. That’s because you’re letting the media dictate your opinion of your political “opponents”. It’s not that difficult to check politicians actual words and even their voting records. Sensationalism sells and moderates aren’t sensational. Ignore the media and make up your own mind based on facts, not speculation, conjecture, hearsay and hyperbole.
The Democratic Party needs people like Joe Manchin. If only to keep the hard left from driving the entire country off a cliff.
This ☝🏻
Probably the only Democrat I have a shred of respect for.
Although we could also argue he is being more adamant about things as well as stances that is putting America further in the hole because of midterms and the state he represents. To be fair though he had been pushing back on Build Back Better for a quite a while now.
I knew he had a blue collar heavy state because of fossil fuels. I have no idea how he is as a senator outside of election time, though which is why I said what I said.
No, let Joe Manchin and other centrist Dem's have the democratic party, it's too far gone to save so time for Progressives to form their own progressive party and let the corrupt centrist Dem's have the sinking ship. Sanders has enough support he can start a viable Progressive party.
The fact that he stays suggests he may not be smart enough to not be in the Democratic party. It's a sinking ship (not that Republicans are a whole lot better; but still objectively better by a tiny bit).
One person can't change anything without support of the rest of Congress, no matter how right he is.
There is room for right wingers in the democratic party. The problem is there is no room for republicans in a government that wants to do its job properly. If the Senate consisted of 50 Joe Manchins and 50 Bernie Sanderses it would be an ideal senate. But instead we have all these fake republicans who don't actually want to govern but are 100% focused on preventing the government from doing anything useful for anyone that isn't a billionaire.
How many billions has Jeff Besos and Bill Gates given to Democrats?
Zuckerbergererer even gave hundreds of millions to Boards of Elections to help collect Democrat votes in the 2020 election... talk about boardering on election fraud!!
@LeeannaDD For one thing, there are two in the senate who caucus with the democrats but are actually independent. For another, anyone who tries to claim they have the majority as an actual defensible point is intentionally trying to avoid blaming republicans for blocking solutions to every problem they complain about through the filibuster. Republicans don't actually want government to function so they are happy to shut everything down with the filibuster. The guy wearing the bomb vest always has all the power.
The simple fact is Democrats represent the entire political spectrum. That's their entire ideology, in fact. If you want to stop them from representing right wingers then you need to figure out how to stop people from being right wingers. And if people don't appreciate being represented with weight equal to those they disagree with then they don't appreciate democracy and so authoritarianism is inevitable.
@BillyBalls billionaires donate to both parties but heavily favor republicans.
I don't know why Tulsi or Manchin are even in the Democratic party. They both represent Dems from back when Dems were sane.
He's the only Democrat that displays liberal principles ironically enough. Look at how the classical liberals were during the age of the founding fathers.
That would be a bad choice for Democrats. Anyone more left would not have a chance of winning a state election in West Virginia that is one of the most conservative states in the country. Kicking Manchin out would forsake all of their chances to win elections there.
Why? If he wants to leave it, he can do that on his own.
I dunno if he should switch parties.. I use to live in West Virginia where he was governor. He did one thing i agree with there. they eliminated DUI's Instead if you're caught drunk or high driving you are charged with felony attempted first degree murder, and your license is permanently taken from you.
That would be insanity on their part (no one else could get elected as a Democrat in West Virginia), but this is the totalitarian Democratic Party we're talking about.
Thankfully he is one of two Democrats that can see past his nose!
Manchin is the one who is keeping America from going completely down the toilet
If he leaves it will show how bad the Dem's are sinking
He should be offered majority leader to become a Republican
Talking shit he can do nothing about, but wants you to pay him while you worry about it. Is the prime job of any politician.
Heck No... keep him... He's one of the few people in Congress to listen to the people and work with both parties.
They’ll be handing Republicans a victory if they alienate members of their own party
That’s what Elitist Communist, like Oligarchs, say. They make most money then. Hate that guy…
Nope. He's a rare voice of reason for the Democrats.
Why kickedout?
Why doesn't he just become Independent? He won't lose any voters!!
Why because he isn't always in lock step with the rest of the democrats that he thinks for himself where does it say you must always vote the same way as your political party
Not sure how that works. Can anyone run under a party name? Can the party disown them? I've heard of politicians disowning the party they were elected under. Which seems wrong.
Id vote for him if he ran for President, no matter the party.
Everyone is concerned about inflation, don't be silly. Machin's a dick for all his other bullshit.
No, but I don't like politicians in general. I do respect Ron DeSantis and to an extent Rand/Ron Paul, that's it.
I'm not a fan of ANY Democrat, the party has shifted far too left even as though I despise the post-Trump GOP. There are far too many closed-minded pieces of shit in the Republican Party, either bigoted or narcissisic or both. Honestly, I think it's time for young minds to settle for a third party. I created my own- the Young Entrepreneurs Party
narcissistic*
Get rid of this guy.
Nope. He should quit and switch parties.
No. He should be voted for.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
