That was California's state Capitol, and what they did was legal and peaceful. They wanted to go into Assembly chamber. When they weren't allowed in, they didn't attack the guards, they left and read their manifesto on the lawn outside instead.

It wasn't the D. C. Capitol, there was no violence, and the intent was not to to interfere in an election, just protest a gun control bill, so it's not "exactly the same thing", is it? Much more like these guys in Michigan.



California Republicans passed gun control laws in response to the BLACK Panthers, but Michigan Republicans blocked similar measures in response to these people. I wonder what the difference could be. It might not be racism, it might just be that Michigan Republicans approved of their supporters intimidating the government, like Trump enjoyed Jan 6th. Take your pick.

Things did not "get out of hand", they were doing exactly what Trump wanted and plannded for weeks. He called them there, he riled them up with what he knew to be lies, he sent them to the Capitol, he told them that Pence was their enemy, and he did nothing to stop them for over three hours, not until there were finally enough federal forces there to forcibly quell the attack.

There's evidence for all that in the hearings. You just don't want to hear it.

I’ve watched all of the other hearings. They’ve been organized by topic which I like. Most of what I’ve seen has already been reported in piecemeal fashion. The hearings present the material in a cohesive manner, with interviews and exhibits to give each topic more depth.

That's not really true though, is it? I mean, all of Trump's sane advisors were telling him he'd lost. Republicans who had worked for him and wanted him to win. Once the court cases were lost, the only ways to stay in power were illegal, and his attempts ranged from fraudulent documents to the final day of violence to try to delay the count.

There's no real doubt that Trump orchestrated a coup attempt any more, culminating in the attack on the Capitol. I know you don't like evidence, but there's been plenty of it put out by the Jan 6 committee. And that's without almost any of the major players testifying. People like Steve Bannon, who's just been found guilty of contempt of Congress. He's not got to decide whether he'd rather spend a month or two years in prison for it; testifying will presumably affect his sentencing.
