Never. The people of this country CHOSE the situation we’re in right now. The “buy made in USA” campaign is over 70 years old. We could have been supporting our local, state and national economy this entire time by shopping locally and buying products made by our families, friends, neighbors and countrymen. Instead, we chose imported crap, mostly because it’s cheap. Even when all these corporations shut down their factories and stores, and went overseas for cheap, unregulated labor. Did anyone boycott? Nope. Now THOSE corporations own our politicians and we will never get back what we gave up. We didn’t have the courage to fight to keep our economy strong. Where in the hell are we going to find the courage to “build back better”? Ell oh ell. The smartest thing US citizens can do now is learn to speak, read and write Mandarin.

You’d have to rebuild all the manufacturing that is gone. The cost of doing that coupled with labour issues nobody would want to do it.

China has cheap labour and no labour laws. Just watch the documentary called American Factory for an idea.

Chinese billionaire purchased a former GM plant in USA. Half the employees are chinese. They have meetings without the Americans where the manager tells the chinese they’re better then the Americans. They say to speak carefully to Americans because they’re all told their special even though they’re not.

At the end the owner & ceo are touring the plant smiling waving pointing out all the employees to be replaced by robots.

Not until the dollar loses reserve currency status, American labor is rendered extremely cheap, regulations are modified to permit heavy industrial expansion, and we begin to rebuild a manufacturing base. This will never happen with our current elites, regardless of political party. Clear them out!

I don't see it without massive tariffs, but has to be on vietnam and malyasia and other areas. It means pushing everyone to China... the world have to find another consumer.

So long as it is the cheapest, never. Even if it says "made in china" its not necessarily true. Lot of things are made in North Korea per china supervision. Then you have the silk road 2.0 project for china.

China is influencing developing nations with infrastructure because there own home land are demanding more rights. So long as there roads bridges being made by china, slave labor quote unquote "made in china" will be mass produced for the world to buy.

It's never gonna happen. We live in a global economy and it will always be that way going forward. Though there may be an increase in "Made in USA" products, there will still be products made in other countries.
