Trending & News I have always tried to buy American but I have noticed that American companies make it a point to advertise that they are made in USA.

Hell no. That's a big mistake too. For decades, countries have relied on one another for goods--and there are reasons, like for example, tropical fruits like bananas grow in very little places in the United States, which is why America companies buy them from places in South America.
What we have here, sadly, is a moronic president with no idea how the world works. I have a machine that keeps me breathing at night, and one of the parts I had to get replaced is only made in China because there are no materials or resources in America.
I am ashamed to be an American because of the embarrassment people want to call a president, and what Trump did to Canada, it's inexcusable. It would be nice if people stop being dumb enough to listen to him when he says "other countries are ripping us off, and that's why we need these tariffs". That's the biggest load of crap. The truth: Canada and America had excellent trade policies until this jackass got elected again. People need to stop listening to a man with 34 felonies and a man who sexually assaults women, but here in America, some people find it acceptable to have en elected official with such a history, and Donald Trump is the proof. A few years ago, he told a ten-year-old he was going to marry her in ten years.
So, the point I'm making... listening to a person with such a disturbing history--and taking his advice to buy only American made--it's a mistake. It's very costly--especially if American has their choice between purchasing a product between the US and China, and the US product cost $100.00, but the one from China only costs $25.00. But hey, if you can afford to buy the American made one, go for it. Some of us don't have money to burn, though!
Buying goods from other countries not only helps the United States, but keeps the economy healthy in other countries as well.
@Leapfrog00 Buying goods from American companies gives jobs to Americans. Those Americans buy homes and cars giving jobs to other Americans. The money stays in the American economy. Buy a foreign car and the money goes overseas not to be seen until China buys up millions of acres of American farm land or Japan comes and buys the Empire State Building. It is a pretty easy concept.
Second THAT!!
I always have tried to buy USA products unless the price difference was so drastic I couldn't justify the price. Or if there really was no US alternative.
Americans will start to feel the impact of tariffs on the price of their products. TRUMP wants to raise tariffs against the EU. But in the end, he will back down, why? Because the costs to the US economy will be too high , and This is why Trump decided to suspend the tariffs, as the stock market reaction had not been very good.
For example, the cost of producing an iPhone will always be lower in Asia with high tariffs than in the USA. Conclusion: Americans will pay the price, and production will probably never be relocated. And if it were to be relocated in the medium term (several years), the Iphone would cost the price of a Vision Pro headset. Suffice it to say that s is guaranteed to reduce the prosperity of one of America's biggest companies.
Let's not forget that US interest rates are already high, and that an increase in the trade war is likely to push them even higher. This won't be easy for the Trump administration to sustain... Don't rush into the lion's den, as certain indicators could call him to order.
I have always preferred to buy American made thibgs

Yes, I prefer to buy American made goods and support jobs for Americans.
I won't knowingly buy anything American anymore. Nothing against Americans in general but I'm not going to support a country that wants to bring us to our knees and put thousands out of business just so that smug little shit can smirk and gloat he's winning.
@purplepoppy I do not blame you poppy. All the countries that have been screwing America for decades will hate America. The US has 37 trillion in debt and part of the problem is they made bad trade deals with foreign countries.
I would love to buy everything produced in the USA. However most are still not made here. If not China it’s elsewhere.
food wise… we get our meats, eggs, dairy from our local farmers. veggies hard to get all year round.
treats … I prefer international snacks. I go buy quality.
The US have normalized junk food/highly processed foods … reason why kids are growing up mentally ill…. Then drugged up.
my system rejects these foods. because I grew up eating farm fresh foods.
hopefully RFK/trump make more changes Sooners and hopefully Americans are smart to stop eating these crap… that’s one thing I am very upset about these corporations.
@exitseven Our Automobile manufacturing went to Japan an others because of our lousy workmanship and reliability problems with American cars, and at a cost of probably thousands/millions of jobs and eventually the collapse of Dearborn, Michigan as an Auto manufacturing center.
Firestone almost went bankrupt over the debacle over the Firestone 500 tire that was disintegrating literally on the cars and it cost Firestone millions. The problem was the Japanese steel that was going into the Steel Radial tire.
American manufacturing has to show me that we can still build/make things that work and endure.
American made cars have improved greatly since the 1970s. They are as good or better than a car made oversees. They are certainly less expensive to maintain. I have been driving American Made vehicles since the 80s. I have owned 4 of them over the years. all full sized , 8 cylinder SUVs or pickup trucks. I get 12-15 years and over 200K miles out of them and never had a major repair. My 86 Blazer used to go through a water pump every 2 years like clockwork but tht is about it.
My wife has had similar experience with all the vehicles she has owned as well. She had a 1991 Country Squire that we had for 15 years before buying a new vehicle in 2006. Last summer I was driving around I was that car driving round. I know it was her old car because of the bumper stickers. They still had them.
@exitseven Thanks for your view point... and I must comment regarding your 86 Blazer... as I had a 1995 Blazer, bought new, and over the years, I could not keep it running because of recurring Fuel pump failures (Chevrolet issued a 'lifetime warranty - parts and labor right after the first failure) It was a continual, ongoing mess with me having the car towed to Chevrolet over the following years and NEVER was it able to be resolved by Chevrolet. I FINALLY GAVE THE CAR TO MY DEALERSHIP -SERVICE WRITER, ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS IMMACULATE IN EVER RESPECT, BUT THE THE &^%$#$# FUEL PUMP THAT COST ME A FORTUNE OVER THE YEARS.
THAT IS/WAS MY REASON FOR MY COMMENTS ON American MADE VEHICLES - RE-GENERAL MOTORS- CHEVROLET DIVISION... THEY NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED A LOUSY ENGINEERING DESIGN FOR THAT FUEL PUMP...
I GAVE UP AND BOUGHT ELECTRIC (TESLA-MODES S - NOW WITH 110, 500 MILES ON IT!!!
If you think buying based on the flag is more important than the quality of the product, especially in US where workers rights and pay are kept intentionally low so billionaires can keep taking more and more then crack on. Me I will get what I like and is within the price range I can handle. All this nationalistic bullshit is nothing different to how the Nazis rose to prominence in the 1920s and 30s.
Consumer policy these days builds in obsolescence. They NEED you to come in more often than the state of the art tech can handle. Just look at Voyager 1 and 2 still working in space 40 odd years and the extreme conditions. Yet phones, computers tv, are built to be replaced in much less time so capitalists can keep digging in your pockets
I did before and still do, to some degree.. when I'm looking at quality or the price is close. like I just boguht a car part from an American company, but who knows where it's really made? we do buy some things specifically from china.
Have you tried buying anything made in America. Everything at Wallyworld is made over seas.
I buy products that give me the best quality and value. I really don't care where they are made.
Everything is still made overseas. Not yet.
Yes! But they're so few things that are made in America 🇺🇸
I hope that we will start having more things made in the USA.
I always have. I also pick any other country than China. I favor V'Nam. We owe those people.
I've always made an effort to buy products made in the United States. It hasn't been easy over the last few decades, because we don't manufacture products here like we used to in the past. Hopefully that's finally going to change.
Makes no diff to me. I still go to the cinema to see Hollywood movies! I still eat at McDonalds and BK!
I'm not in USA so obviously I will try and avoid anything made there , but anyone and everyone should try and buy local , I always try and buy Thai products.
I try to buy durable quality products. Much of what I buy is American made.
Unlike the criminal in chief. I'm one of the people who actually understand how real functioning and thriving business works. Drop the free masturbating level support and think for yourself.
I have always tried to buy Made in the USA but I am also on a tight budget being a college student so I will but the most affordable product usually. I am against Trump's tariffs any way.
Do you know Trumps crap he peddles is made mostly and China? I’ve bet you’ve bought plenty for your alter. 🤣
No. American made products suck

Cheapest working products, I don't care if they're not made here, because it's a simple equation to me. Buy what works for the least amount of money.
It depends but yeah I try
