Hobbies and similar interests aren't that important. Morals, values, and life goals are what matters. Very few people end relationships because the guy plays a board game or the wife wants to paint the bathroom blue. The things that end relationships are misaligned morals and values, or misaligned life goals.

Most people act like you can pick a partner for shallow reasons and then bring morals, values, and life goals into alignment, but it doesn't work that way. The shallow, superficial things are easily changed, but the deeper things rarely change and never change for someone else. If those aren't aligned, your mutual love of Italian food, country music, and horror movies (or whatever) isn't going to hold up your relationship.

politics and morals aren't the same thing, politics are how you run the bigger picture, and those are usually based on manipulation, not on morals
