Half the population of Taiwan doesn't want Democracy nor Capitalism, they want to rejoin China. Don't believe the stupid propaganda nonsense on television.

Again, if we apply the same logic we use for the Jewish people's ancestral land of Israel, we ought to support China repossessing Taiwan. The land was theirs for thousands of years and we're stupid to think "Democratizing" Taiwan makes any difference. Democracy is only as good as the dumbest and most evil people allowed to vote in said democracy, which explains why Abortion and Marijuana are legal here in the U. S. If evil people are the majority, you get evil laws and an even more evil civilization.

Pelosi's days as Speaker are numbered and perhaps she sees this as her final opportunity to assert some independence. I don't think she will be the Speaker after the elections in November.

Pelosi always did what she wanted regardless, she's a classic career politician does nothing but enrich herself financially and make deals to survive. Nancy really did nothing, politicians only arrive to these situations when the deal is done and the course of action decided by diplomats, civil servants and generals/Admirals. She just arrived to take the glory for the work of others. Likely she is up for reelection and now will claim she got tough with Chinese and landed bravely in Taiwan under the threat of her plane being shot down. She's likely up for reelection soon but it is clear that she's been using her postion as the house speaker as though she was the president herself.

She has a history of doing what is best for herself. So I wouldn't be surprised if she did it for the political points. Also she has a history of using the knowledge she gains in office to guide her and her husbands investment in wall street. Such as heavily investing in big pharma companies like Pfizer before she started pushing for Covid vaccination programs. Her and her husband are also now investing in companies such as Nvidia ahead of Biden signing a bill to support electronic chip manufactures. A bill that would financially support companies like Nvidia and cause a rise in their stock price.

Frankly if you want to know why the lines that separated wall street, big banks and corporate America from our government are gone at this point, you all look at career politicians like her. She is a poster child for everything that is wrong with our government and why we need strict term limits and to get rid of a the old guard on both sides of the isle.

I think we already knew her going to Taiwan would stir up China, and China took the bait by responding in anger. In some sense they are more at fault than we are. The true strength of an individual is to not be moved or become inflamed when someone does something especially if they know it's going to upset you, and China showed us that they failed that test.

The U. S. is always trying to push other nations' buttons and assert our authority where it doesn't belong, but responding in rage and sending out jets to do missile tests near Taiwan is the least intelligent of responses.

Pelosi has been rogue for decades. She’s obviously just using her position in Congress to get rich from insider trading. She doesn’t care one bit about her constituents, or anyone else. Taiwan is an economic hub. OF COURSE she wants to be there at this time. Ell oh ell!

Sacrificing her to get the war going will provide A LOT of justification to her low information sheep and get rid of another albatross around the party’s neck. Biden isn't Pelosi's boss (actually, we, the voters are supposed to be), and she's well within her rights as Speaker to visit. Hell, he doesn't even have control of the State Department or any other part of the Executive Branch of the federal government.

That said, she probably has an agenda regarding Taiwan and the CCP that hasn't been explained.

This president doesn’t have opinions, at least other than those moments where he’s more lucid than usual. He reads what his handlers tell him to read, or tries to. The State Dept. is fully supportive of Pelosi’s stunt. They had Biden say it isn’t a good idea because if he officially endorsed it, it would be even more obvious the US is trying to start a war.
