One of the greatest men in history, along with Genghis Khan, Kublai Khan, Julius Caesar, Leonidas, Aristotle, Sun Tzu and so on.
To those who claim he was a "hooligan" - no, He restored law and order to lands where people were oppressed by their rulers. He actually enforced the existing laws of those laws and used that against the corrupt local rulers. The local people loved him. Similar with Genghis and Kublai who just wanted respect & taxes to be paid but didn't dictate your life as much as current day western governments do.

Clearly he wasn’t that great if is epitaph was only the great. I mean isn’t that one a little over used now a days
he's a troll
what kind of asshole on his death bed would say "only the strongest shall rule" lmao

He could’ve done a better job deciding who he was passing the empire onto. Forcing his generals to destroy each other for power over whatever survived that war actually hurt the longevity of his empire.
He’s dead like everyone else and what’s he have to show for it… ? Learned well from Aristotle and great strategic thinker. I like he fought with his men.
In the end I’d put Jesus of Nazareth… Ghandi and a few others as greater than him and wouldn’t even mentio. Him. I don’t like killers but those with a heart ❤️. He killed a lot of people but there’s much I don’t know…He’s a badass.
He achieved so much at such a young age. The embodiment of ambition and drive. He accomplished what all around him thought would be impossible.
He’s inspirational.
He’s a symbol of ambition, victory, and achievement.
His favorite book was the Iliad, but I actually find his own biography more entertaining than Greek mythology.Invasion killing raping destruction of ancient knowledge in africa to hide the true history of earth DOES NOT MAKE ONE GREAT. it makes them psycho. There was nothing great about alexander or any other european trouble maker.
Aléksandros III of Makedon (which is the name I prefer to call the dang Earthling) is bloody evil. He murdered innocents just for goddamn lands and when offered the Gordian knot to untie, he just cut it with his darn sword, and everyone had to bow to their new king of scum, filth, grease, &c. One good thing was that he didn’t live very long (although too long is definitely).
One of the best military leaders in human history. Never lost a battle. Great conqueror. But as usual he was inclined to destroy his race by mixing it up with the people he conquered. Whites are the only race in the world that comes with a self destruct button.
He was a great conqueror. It remains to be seen how much more could ge have conquered had he lived another 20 years. Could he have conquered the Western Mediterranean up against the likes of Rome and carthage?
I've heard of Alexander The Great, but I know nothing about Alexandre The Great. Are these the same person, or is Alexandre the gay guy with a skilled tongue?
I'm no expert on him. But based on what I know of him and the Macedonians it makes me wonder how much of his legend is his military genius and how much of it was just the skill and cohesiveness of the Macedonians. I mean the dated Greece something the Persians really couldn't even do with overwhelming numbers. And this was before Alexander every took command.
Alexander and Hannibal Barca are my two favorite military generals of antiquity.
My name is Alexander and an AP European History teacher once told me in high school it means "defender of man" and is one of it not the only name (s) that translates into every language in the world basically. The name says it all, but he was obviously smart, strong-willed and had influence over the masses. Checks out
Not impressed by him. King David is far better and Jesus Christ is the Lord of glory and power.
He is one of the “great men of history” like Julius Caesar, and Napoleon.
Although not everything about him was good.Apparently he was good at fighting and conquering. That's its, don't really feel much else for the guy.
The greatest conquer ever outside of Jesus the Christ...
Iron Maiden wrote a song about him, so he must be significant in some sense.
He is the kind of leader who fights his own wars. That is what makes him great.
Good tactician and soldier, absurdly shit with governance
I think he was the epitome of a kid born on third base. His father basically handed him the finest military in the Hellenic world. And he was educated by Aristotle? Are you kidding me?
A useless hooligan who wasted his time with molesting others around.
Bit of a megalomaniac, should have stopped his army at Babylon. He may have ruled for longer, I think his own men, generals poisoned him in the end.
