Is there anything you can do about harassment if police won’t listen to you?

I arrived to work early one day and sat in my car until it was time to go inside. A lady (who I’ve seen before) pulled up next to me and started mocking me through her car window (she was acting like a kid - fake laughing, pointing at me, waving her hands at me, but in a mocking way).

This lady then went inside of my job and talked to my boss. At the time, I didn’t know what she told my boss, but I later found out that she told some lies about me to my boss.

After this lady talked to my boss, she got back in her car, drove around my car, and parked on the other side of me. Then she left.

I’ve tried reporting this to my county’s police, but I was told that since the incident didn’t involve physical violence, they couldn’t do anything.

There’s a caveat. I found out that the lady was my former roommate’s girlfriend’s mother…. My former roommate and I did not get along.

I ended up getting fired over what the lady said to my boss.
