Nature takes more risks with males of any species. Males are more likely to have mutations. Most mutations are maladaptive, and are therefore unattractive. Most people will assume that mutation means extreme disfiguration, but most often the signs are minor, but they still make the person look less attractive.

There aren't. Women are just more picky and entitled than men are, in most of the world. In some places though, it's backwards. Like in Russia, women are the more horny ones and guys are the more entitled and arrogant ones.

It only seems that way because average women that are a 4 to 6 get hit on and called 9s and 10s by many men that are desperate for sex.

Also, many women use make up to hide their imperfections.

Nature made us that way. Looks are far more important for women than men, so more attractive women have passed on their genes.
