Her son Charles is automatically king, long live the king. There will be 10 days of official mourning, followed by her state funeral. One question there is who from the United States will attend her funeral? Will Joe and Jill Biden attend, or will they send a representative? Will any former Presidents attend?

Sometime later, Charles will have a large Coronation ceremony.

In the meantime, life will go on, Parliament will meet and govern the country, under new Prime Minister Liz Truss.

One question is whether Charles will change from tradition and be a monarch that gets involved in decisions of government. Time will only tell.

Charles' and Diana's son William, in addition to losing his grandmother, will be under a lot of stress now. If anything happens to Charles, his father, William will be king.

Her eldest son, Charles, Prince of Wales, immediately becomes King Charles the third. However, there won't be an official coronation for some while. That takes a bit of organising. He has decided to keep the name Charles, but did not have to. British monarchs can change the regnal name to whatever they want. For example, Edward the seventh's name was actually Albert, and Queen Victoria's name was actually Alexandrina. Charles is interesting choice, because it didn't work out well for the last two Charles's. Charles the first lost his head (literally) and Charles the second had to go into exile in France otherwise he would have been murdered by Oliver Cromwell. Let's hope it works out better for Charles the third.

Well she hadn’t made any big decisions in a while; that was always taken care of by others, so they were prepared for this politically.

Relationally, her family may be somewhat saddened, but they should also be at peace.

She was lucky to have lived so long, as well as strong, and lucky more so, to have met her great grand children.

She was beautiful.. to the very end.

Quite an exquisite lady to behold and admire. Her history lives on today. None will ever come close to her, and my regards and affections are completely with her family. England is her family. Her family is all of those who mourn or farewell her passing.♥️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇺🇸 🌍 ♥️
