Why are feminists so victim minded?

No one likes an asshole, and when a man acts like one and women treat him accordingly, everyone agrees he is an asshole and judges him as what he is... an asshole.

When a feminist behaves like an asshole and men treat her like one, she calls it sexism, considers herself an oppressed victim of misogynous men and complains about double standards. What she doesn't realize or acknowledge is that she is the one with a double standard.

Why are feminists so dishonest and victim minded?

Thanks for all the responses. It's interesting that there is only one female response for far, and thanks to her as well for her honesty. But to be fair, really there are two female responses if we count the one who is posting under her blue account today. She is a classic example of exactly what I was referring to in my question. The irony there is pretty thick.

Thanks again for all the responses. I am honored that two of the most prolific female users with blue accounts chose to respond, and one engaged quite significantly. I am especially grateful to her for doing such a fantastic job of illustrating the point of my question, and being such a brilliant example of why modern feminism is so despised by the vast majority of the western population.

anyone who comes from a position of being oppressed, or weaker, sees themselves in a victim mindset. They battle against those who are in power... which would be white males, or males. I can't say that I've seen "womens' marches" for rights in Africa, but maybe I missed that. Or womens marches in Pakistan or Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan.

In that last caes, they are lower and oppressed under men and are victims of their abuse. Women in USA were and have been left out of so many things. So some women want that equality and power associated... control, freedom. nothing wrong with that.

But some get stuck in that mindset and see the other as oppressor rather than see themselves as strength. That creates anger.

Beyond that, I don't know:) It's easy to complain, and a lot of people would rather complain than take responsibility. I can't say that I've seen a woman repressed in my life, not obviously. Some women got a lot of favoritism when they didn't deserve it, because they were women and could threaten with power. reminds me of some of the BS games women will play because they are the "weaker vessel"... and thus victim if someone encroaches their space... but I'll refrain...

I am convinced it is their own internalized misogyny that makes them think that way. They view themselves as weak and inferior and they project those thoughts onto others. So they blame any adversity or negativity they experience on "sexism" by default.

But it's not just the feminists who behave like assholes who do this. When a man is meek and/or weak in character in a business environment he does not garner respect from his peers. But when a feminist is like that she blames her lack of respect on sexism. What does the man blame it on? Human nature. It is natural for people to respect weak people less than they respect strong and capable people.

Feminists look at the man and call him weak, and they look at the woman and call her a victim of sexism. That's just what feminists do... play the victim.

Same reason why ANY special interest group are so victim minded. Because women are right they generally make less than a man, and that's not right. But is neither giving them a special set of rules that doesn't apply to men. But how else do you play when the game is rigged against you simply because of your gender.

The only problem I have with feminism. Is today's feminists don't want equality. Call it equality with interest. Their reparations for being a woman so to speak. They don't want equality they want to rule through politically correct fear. Essentially extortion. "Give us what we want or we'll have you canceled by the politically correct cancel culture.

The problem is an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.

Women earn less than men because they choose to. There is literally nothing stopping them from earning as much as men except their own life choices and priorities. In fact, many women do earn as much as or more than men, especially when younger before they choose to opt out of the insanity and pressure of high-stress business life.

But they cannot have their cake and eat it too. They can choose to earn as much as men do... by prioritizing earnings over comfort, personal fulfillment and long work hours, or they can settle for earning less money, as many men do too, by the way. But they cannot have it both ways. This is not sexism... this is women choosing what they want. It's life... for all of us.

Well.. I am a male feminist so I am not sure if that makes me a victim or not according to you but quite frankly, considering the insane supreme court decision in USA which reversed Roe I think women have a fairly good argument for being victimized.

And you have been one of the most prolific "victims" on GAG for years, long before Roe was overturned. Your comment here is a great example.

What overturning Roe did was take away women's personal autonomy and choice, which men never had in the first place. Studies consistently show the vast majority (~95%) of abortions are done as a matter of convenience. That is to say those women choose abortion because they are not ready or willing to have a child or be a parent... exactly the same reasons why men might make the same choice, but never had the right to. In other words, men have been the "victims" for the last 5 decades, and now women are also "victims" in the same way as men always have been.

This statement is false ^. Abortion is built on the idea of a woman having the right to choose her future, control her destiny, have the legally protected ability to walk away from the responsibilities of being a parent. There have been countless studies done on the reasons why women choose abortion and they all show the same thing... women choose abortion for reasons like not being ready to be a parent, not wanting a child to get in the way of their education and career aspirations, not being financially prepared to support a child, not being in a stable relationship with the father, not being emotionally mature enough to take on the life-altering responsibilities of parenting a child. Roughly 95% of abortions are done for those reasons... nothing to do with "bodily autonomy".

But "bodily autonomy" is a convenient scapegoat because it is an excuse to give women certain rights but deny men the same rights. As a feminist woman, you cannot openly acknowledge that because by doing so you would also be acknowledging that women choose to walk away from the responsibility of being a mother for exactly the same reasons men might choose to walk away from the responsibility of being a father, which of course opens up a huge can of worms for you, as a feminist woman.

The fact is that by overturning Roe, the SCOTUS leveled the playing field for men and women. It's sad that they had to do it by taking away women's rights rather than granting men those same rights, but the fact is women are now responsible for the children they create in the same way men have always been. Women are not victims here any more than men have been since the dawn of modern civilization. And yet you, as a feminist woman, are still playing the "victim" (and blaming it on men) and doing exactly what I was talking about in my question here. I am fully vaccinated by choice. The government should not force anyone to get a vaccination, but they should restrict the actions of the unvaccinated in ways that protect people who do get vaccinated. I see it the same way as I do smoking... the government should not outlaw smoking, but a person's freedom to exercise their right to smoke ends where their choice endangers the health of others (i. e., there should be no smoking on airplanes, in restaurants, etc.). Does that answer your question?

I never said I don't support women's right to abortion. You apparently made that assumption on your own. I fully support a woman's right to choose, as I do a man's. That is pure common sense and common human decency. What I reject is your claim that you, as a woman, are somehow more of a victim in all of this than men are, which was exactly my point in the first place. And no, they are not fundamentally the same. A woman killing a child insider her body obviously has far broader implications than a person choosing whether or not to be vaccinated. Abortion kills a human life and obviously affects the father enormously. Conflating the two is feminist nonsense.

No one but the woman herself has the right to influence her own body in a way that is required for an abortion and since the fetus does not have human rights at that time inside her she and only she has the right to abort the fetus.

I'm not arguing for men to have a say in whether a woman can have an abortion. They shouldn't. But men should have the right to a paper / financial abortion. That is common sense. Both men and women should have the right to personal autonomy, which is what abortion is all about.

Paper abortions are stupid. Normal abortions only really work because the fetus is never really considered to be a human individual with their own rights. A paper abortion however would always clash with the parents responsibility to their own child which brings a whole bunch of issues into the conversation that simply is never an issue in a normal abortion and thus they are not comparable.

As for why a woman might want an abortion? Irrelevant. That is a decision she gets to make. Bodily autonomy simply guarantees that she CAN make a choice and that literally no one else can force her one way or another. If a woman wants to have an abortion for a stupid reason then that is her choice, we are not making things illegal just because they are stupid after all.
