We have the choice when we vote. If public opinion agrees with his views, it is the publics choice. If they find his views unacceptable, they needn't vote for him.

I feel that the only time candidates should be restricted is if they are proven to be unworthy, for instance a criminal or member of a group with a proven history that is not conclusive to the public good.
