Do white American people mostly come from British origins and roots?

And in the US, do most people have British/English rooted names mostly? Such as:

- Jack, John, Mike, Micheal, Donald, Marshall, Chris, Paul, George, Johhny etc? (I don't know if they are all English rooted names mostly)

My ancestors on both sides of the family were Irish Catholic. Then immigrated to the U. S. in the 1850s.

I don't know what % of Americans are of British ancestry, but most white people would be of European descent. There have been waves of immigrants from different parts of Europe throughout U. S. history. Lots of Germans, Dutch, Scandinavians, Italians, Poles, you name it. Many of them "Americanize" their names to fit in. Since America's cultural roots are English and it speaks the English language, the names sound English.

Guillaume becomes William or Bill
Jorge becomes George

John (from which Johnny and Jack are derived), Michael (where we get Mike from), Paul, Chris, and George are all of Middle Eastern origin. They DID come west with Christianity, though.

And the most common ethnic origin of Americans is actually German, followed by Irish, and then English, but a great many of us have more than one of them.

All I see anymore are Mexicans, Guatemalans, and Haitians. My favorite are the Nigerians... who work in customs and immigration at airports.

Because there is nothing like having an immigrant from Africa tell you whether or not you can re-enter the country you were born in 👍

No, There wer also a lot of French people settling on the American continent, as well as germans, Spanish, dutch, ... basically from all european countries.

Eg Donald Trump has german ancestors, the original name was Drumpf.

Or the City New Orleans, was a french city called Nouvelle-Orléans after a french city. (just like New York is named after York in england.)

No. Americans are mainly mixed race, with majority Irish or Dutch roots.

Not all of us, and not completely. But I'd say that a majority of us (like myself) are mixed with English and something else.
