Now, I would help anyone who needed help, but when I was 19, I was walking through a rainstorm in the city, and some girl in front of me who was about my age slipped and fell hard while running. It looked like she was heading for some office job. All her stuff scattered everywhere. For a second, I thought about helping her, but then I thought she might make fun of me, cuss me out, or yell at me to stay away from her, like girls usually treated me at that time, so I just walked past her and kept going.

Here it seems to happen more with slipping on the ice, although people trip over all sorts of things.
Of course I will go help, that's just my nature and my job.

I was out working in my yard the summer before last and a woman was walking by and suddnely she tripped and fell. I stopped what I was doing and helped her up.

yes, she just scraped her knee. She was walking her dog and was too busy watching the dog and tripped on the curb.

I try to be helpful as often as I can so usually if someone is hurt I check on them and see if they’re okay. Last week my friend got hit in nuts by a tennis ball and I helped him get to the nurse

I'm not going to lie to you, I may have already laughed at this because it is hard to resist the urge to laugh when someone starts to laugh. But I also helped guys and checked they were fine because I know it is painful

No I don't think it's that. People laugh because of the way you react because of the accidental hit. It's the same thing when you fall

Yes it probably adds to the fact that your girls friends laughed. They were relieved to realize it'll never happen to them. Since they are quite young maybe they didn't know about it

I understand it is painful but you can't prevent all accidents.
Especially considering it is quite an easy spot to be hit in accidentally in ball sports from what I've seen 🤷‍♀️
