I honestly believe this, and nobody has been able to change my mind. I just don't see it when I look around. In Baton Rouge no matter where you look black white brown and yellow people exist side by side. My white parents didn't give a crap when they met my boyfriend and he turned out to be black as coffee. It wasn't something I prepared them for or talked about. I just brought him home for dinner. Nobody cared. You're gonna be crossed lol cause that's what you seen you can't take some small town presence and say the rest of the US operates because I grew up in Louisiana and everything was fine there so that means it doesn't happen anywhere and just because you grew up with parents who doesn't care mean that everyone's parents is the same lol that's like some ignorant home schooled grew up under a rock person would say. Then you have someone telling you they experienced ut and due to that experience I ended up moving to California where I can work and do everything I need too, because in the US we have that right to go state to state. But that doesn't mean I deserved to be starved out like that and made to love in poverty because of the color of me and ny family's skin and to think about I ain't even black, black and they still treated me like I was no different, so the only job I had to take because I could not get one at all out there was the Army Recruiters office and I did my time. Once I finally got my DD214 and got discharged out I took that money and got my whole family down to California. Cause I came back and the first thing I did is try to get a job at USPS and I got the interview but when I got there they all laughed at me. It didn't matter that I was prior service it didn't matter I had no record all they saw was black.

My mom has a full on masters degree & she could not get one job out there for a reason. So she was forced on the system & we had to grow up broke she was to stubborn and thought she should fight the racism instead of leaving it until she checked out. It's funny cause growing up we use to all talk about wanting jobs at 16 and making money the legal way.

@Bratsondanielle But as we all got denied those friends I had made bad decisions & now they got criminal records and since thar causes it to be even hard for jobs all they know is crime but for me I stuck too it and knew I had to get a way out. But I had a lot of white friends and when we both applied they got the job I didn't and don't give me the they had experience no they didn't.

My friends even told me they had racist managers who said when I see black peoples applications and they turn them in, they throw them away. So if I am rejected to make a living for myself, while all my white friends got jobs, cars and could have family's, while I was only subjected to was struggle. You ain't gonna tell me white privilege doesn't exist in certain areas because it DOES.

If you do not believe go do a quick Google search of "Spokane, WA" and look up the KKK how they tried to bomb MLK day at one time, mayor's wife saying racist stuff, DA prosecutor's saying openly racial things, and just how racist Spokane is, look at the murder rate & crime rate and the suicide rate. Their all for a reason. Their Is tons of systemic racism issues up there and i escaped that ish. So idc about your upbringing it doesn't cancel out others upbringing just because you didn't see it but you haven't lived all around the US but Baton Rouge a small city and another smaller city you're currently in.
