Donald Trump’s company charged the Secret Service as much as five times more than the government rate for agents to stay overnight at Trump hotels while protecting him and his family, according to expense records newly obtained by Congress.

+1 yA wealthy man who has filed bankruptcy multiple times just so he doesn’t have to pay what he owes. “Grifter” is definitely one word for that kind of behavior. But using his choices as president and now former president to highlight poor spending is so redundant it’s ridiculous. Back in the ‘80s some federal documents were released showing that the government spent tens of thousands of dollars on A toilet seat and A hammer. It’s the inspiration for a throwaway joke in “Independence Day”. Ell oh ell! Every single member of congress EVER gets to retire with their full salary and full healthcare benefits for themselves and their immediate families at ZERO cost to themselves, and NO restrictions on services or providers. Yet most of them argue against universal healthcare like it’s literally the end of the world. Ell oh ell! They also vote for their own raises. Maybe you remember the half-billion dollars handed to Solyndra under the Obama administration. Or the fact that military contract bids went the way of the Dodo under the previous administration. How about the as-yet untold millions of dollars given away to con artists and scammers under the guise of “covid relief”, all while knowing fully well how much money was thrown away similarly with the “economic stimulus” packages not long before. Did you know that in the US we spend more on the care and feeding of a convicted criminal than we spend on educating a child? Ell oh ell! The government pisses money away because they can. NOBODY actually resists these criminals because 50% of the time the criminals in charge are YOUR criminals. If people REALLY wanted reform, they’d stop challenging the other party’s nonsense and challenge their own party instead.
I’m not sure how much SSAs actually make, but if you expect me to feel bad that a few of them are living “the good life” in fancy hotels every now and again, then clearly you underestimate how difficult and dangerous that job is and how much solidarity a good citizen shares with other working class citizens. More power to them! I hope the agency puts them on rotation so they can all get some! Ell oh ell!21 Reply- +1 y
Hahaha! Lookit the “disagrees”! I bet i got one from each side of the aisle cuz nobody wants to admit they’re associated with the criminals that are ripping them off! Morons, the lot of ya! Ell oh ell!

I first remember Trump from the Apprentice…didn’t watch the show just saw the ads on tv. All I knew is he went bankrupt in Atlantic City. After that I saw him run for President a few times and never really went anywhere. In 2016 I reviewed some of the reasons he never went far in any other election cycles and some of the controversies that were coming to light during his campaign. All of these things would have destroyed most people political career but somehow people believed in him. I didn’t get it and thought he was demonstrating more and more how unfit he was to lead anything. During his presidency it was clear how unhinged he would become on a daily basis, how he wouldn’t stay up to date on things, how he spent more time holding than any other president. I don’t see, with all the information that has been backed by evidence and shown to be true l, how any sane human being who is capable of reason would consider him to be anything but a terrible person. But hey that’s me. I don’t run your life, and don’t want to.

+1 yTrump is and has always been a business man. His interest lies in green paper rather than the interest of national security. Seems like he did this out of frustration of having his international business deals heavily scrutinized, so charged his protectors for feeling like he's being cheated out of money. Republicans should choose their candidates more wisely. Pick a nationalist thats younger and more economically aware. Politicians over 60 need to be banned from holding senator, federal judge, and presidential positions. Trump and Biden are a joke. So is the supreme court.

+1 yIf the government was willing to pay it then there is nothing wrong with it. The government pays too much for everything. But Democrats seem to think the gov has an unlimited amount of money to spend, so they don't care about cutting expenses. They just love more and more government.
The irony of Democrats complaining about spending too much money is off the charts. It's been the same fight every year for decades. The Democrats want to spend and spend and spend, and the Republicans try to get it under control and cut back on the government. The Democrats want an unlimited budget, but then nit-pick trivial details that are completely insignificant. If the Dems are really concerned about the budget, then they need to start cutting hundreds of billions, not making an issue of pocket change for political purposes.

So if your going to call out one at least have the balls to call out all of them. Because both sides of the isle are just as corrupt and there is zero separation between the likes of corporate America, Wall Street, people like Henry Weinstein and the vast majority of our government. The lines separating them where crossed over then completely removed generations ago. All party politics are is one big game of good cop and bad cop.

I like how Liberals keep thinking they are going to find some juicy bit of “gotcha” news that is going to make people change their minds about Trump when really you’re all just high-fiving yourselves while the rest of us wonder what you’re all so excited about. 🤷♂️

20 ReplyHonestly, maximum charging is standard practice for government contractors on stuff like that. The Trumps overcharging for government lodging is far from abnormal practice.

According to them Trump cheating someone out of a deal or money or not paying his taxes means "He's a smart business man"

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIt’s extremely funny…. Trump’s not even in office and yet you, other libs and the great ones in the Democratic Party (in office / power) cannot stop talking about him.
If you think he is the only one overcharging the government you are in fantasy land. ALL politicians Fck us daily….. pull your head out of the sand, open your eyes and do some research. You’ll likely find the ones you follow hide their corruption better.

Opinion Owner+1 yMy comment was about Trump, not Biden.

@Walrus_au well said!
Opinion Owner+1 yJust off the top of my head, he discriminated based on both dex and race when hiring that surprise court Judge. He said he'd guarantee there will be a black woman appointed, which is outlawed by our constitution.
And I don't recall Trump actually being convicted of any supposed crimes. Granted, my example of Biden wasn't a conviction, either (though he hasn't had any due process, while Trump has), but unless you want to argue that hiring based on race and sex is not illegal, I'm guessing we'll both agree Biden is in fact a criminal.
Opinion Owner1 yBy a judge that said "I will come after Trump" well before that court case ever came to fruition. It was also after hundreds of attempts to convict him of anything. Roll a die over and over again and eventually you'll get the result that you want. You guys used lawfare and most people think it's BS, which is why you lost the popular vote. I'd also point out the abundance of convicted felons that democrats let loose so apparently you aren't too perturbed about convicted felons to begin with.
Spare me the bias and theatrics.
Opinion Owner1 yAlso you avoided addressing my point. I assume it's because you agree that Biden is objectively a criminal and you'd rather not admit that.
Opinion Owner1 yAnd you're avoiding addressing my points again. So I suppose you concede those points.
Opinion Owner1 ySo Biden excluding races from a job position he is hiring for is not valid. You're quite literally, objectively, an advocate of racism. You are, definitively, a racist.
I'd also point out that just because you say something doesn't make it true. So if you want to tell me the sky is brown you can but what substance does your assertion have if you don't support your claim?
I'd also say that if my points are invalid it would be easy for you to disprove or invalidate them. Yet you seem to be having quite a bit of difficulty doing so. I wonder why that is.

@Fuentes I know. I was including that in the total. And, how many millions was that terrible racist wall that he had built around his house in Delaware with OUR tax money? But, NO, lest persecute Trump for spending a few thousand on protection from the lefty loonies running loose in the country!!

Anonymous(18-24)1 yIt's official. Democrats are assholes. We don't need to listen to another word from them.
00 Reply2.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Nope it's Trump 2024. steps for Biden's impeachment is coming even though Kamala could be worse but that should keep he on edge knowing Biden got kicked outta Office.
014 Reply- +1 y
Of course Biden should be impeached for multiple legit reasons (unlike the hoaxes for Trump), but the Pubes are smart enough to know it's not worth it politically. Biden is an impotent hack who poses no threat politically. He is dangerous only to the American people who he is crushing into misery every day with lunatic policies.

No lol It's obvious his approval rating is is low and more Americans are pissed no way he survives am impeachment. @TotallyAlmost you know theirs ones stupid person like Dan Crenshaw and and others from the right who will start the process lol
