How about they get together and all sit down and have a few beers together? You know, toasting each other and letting bygones be bygones. Work together to make the country Great Again? Just think what determined people can accomplish if they just worked together.
+1 yDo some research on what Neo-cons are... RINO'S & DINO's... those ones agree.
What's going on right now is the Republican party is getting filtered out by what I'm going to call the America first republicans. Meanwhile, the Democratic party has been infiltrated by some extreme socialists. That's why you see a bit more infighting amongst the Dems right now. We're watching some major makeovers of these parties right now. I pay attention to the red side of things because they are out to really clean house of RINO's... whereas on the blue side the DINO's seem to be maintaining their hold amongst their own, but they have to age out eventually. People are leaving that party and just jumping ship. Civilian wise the only ones still all blue no matter who seem to be soaking in TDS. They really didn't like Trump, but can't give you a real reason why when Hunter was out there doing worse than he's ever done. Is what it is I guess. 37% still think Biden is doing a good job... my guess is that all of them will give you a reason that basically states they hate Trump. It's not very logical and just emotional.

And these things right there: " the Democratic party has been infiltrated by some extreme socialists" - infiltrated? No, there are a few fringees, the same as with the Republicans. AOC is to the Dems what Majorie Greene is to the Repubs - extremists, although I will say that MTJ seems a bit crazier.
" They really didn't like Trump, but can't give you a real reason why..." Whaaaaat? They can give you a thousand reasons plus 10,000 lies why. Where did that come from? This part here - " when Hunter was out there doing worse than he's (Trump) ever done." First of all, the behavior of a son of a then Senator has absolutely ZERO to do the behavior of the then President, Donald Trump. You're simply presenting a strawman to detract from examining Trump's behavior, which is the VERY thing that the Republicans do best.

hat reminds me soooooo much of a discussion I had with a trumper some years ago, about a "pants on fire, complete fabrication of a lie" that Trump touted. It wasn't about a national issue, or international policy, or anything even significant. It was about his speech to the Boy Scouts and the call he claimed he received afterward from the head of the Boy Scouts, telling him it was the best speech ever. The call NEVER happened. In fact, the head of the Boy Scouts sent e mails to the leaders who attended the speech APOLOGIZING for the cringe-worthy moments as Trump turned it into a political rally.
The trumper's response to me was... wait for it... ALL politicians lie! Yeah, that's what he said, as if wholly fabricating a story about something so insignificant is OK, because it's not a "big lie"? I was taught that if you can't be trusted with little things, how can you be trusted with big things? Making shit up out of thin air is wholly acceptable to Trump, and his supporters, and has been SHOWN to be true - and THAT'S a fact, Jack. Do I need MORE reasons why he's loathsome? I got 'em.
And to prove how his machine supported the lie, even when Sarah Sanders reluctantly admitted "there was no phone call", she tried to say "it was a direct comment made to the President - face to face", and that "I wouldn't say he lied - that's a bold accusation". Bullshit Sarah - it's not an accusation, it's on video. He lied. Period. About something idiotic and meaningless, and then his press secretary tried to re-write the facts.
Anyway, I digress as much as your strawman is a digression. Hunter's actions demand their own scrutiny. Trump's actions demand its own, and got them, and continues to get them. If the D's and the R's can agree on anything ever again, it will only happen when they can agree on facts and major principles WITHOUT distorting them with personal, or emotional as you put it, spin. - +1 y
@loveslongnails Well I can see by just a few answers that no one will get along in the two parties.

Picture that situation as I described it. Add to it when Trump said the President of Mexico agreed to "pay for part the wall". Another total fabrication, a lie the White House again tried somehow to explain away. If you're talking to a person who can't say to you - "OK, he lied. He made up both those things. The President of Mexico denied saying it, the Boy Scout leader denied saying it. It's not he said - they said, Trump has no proof and 2 denials"... then how can you hope for sensible conversation? That's like a Dem saying "no, Biden isn't in the least bit inappropriate or creepy around kids, at times". Well, Dem or not, you have to admit it because it's true. If you can't accept basic facts about things that are small things self-evident, how can you expect cooperation on matters concerning millions of people and the state of a country?
Is this about political parties, or is this just plain human stupidity and pride? - +1 y
@loveslongnails The thing is, no matter if Trump lied or not, when Biden is doing the same and has put the whole country at risk, both financially and by letting everyone in, including terrorists, drug dealers, sex traffickers, and people who had been deported for various crimes. You going to knock Trump when Biden has been worse?

I'll bet you my left nut she's going to. That 37% of approval for Biden come from people that just hate Trump. That's why they sound so loony toons and obsessed with the orange man that lives rent-free in their head. Just trying to read and, Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump... that's what makes me roll my eyes and not bother to respond.
My original answer just got an example of what I was trying to describe... nothing more, nothing less. I'm a non-partisan voter but that kind of insanity is guran-fucking-teeing that I'll vote red no matter who.

Yeah, they can agree on a lot of things, like the other side sucks, are inept, and can't get anything done. The only problem is, they're usually two sides of the same coin. One side is just worse than the other every 12 to 15 years. And the woke side has been the worse ones since 2015 now. But otherwise, it's like arguing in a mirror, thinking you've won the argument.
It doesn't matter in the end, anyway. At the very top, the 1% of 1%, there is no "left" or "right" anyway. Even George Carlin said this sh*t in the 80s and 90s. "It's a big club and you ain't in it!"
https://www.youtube.com/embed/Nyvxt1svxsoBut sure. The woke are the worse ones right now. At least until 2027 or so.

The already do. Most voters are so blind they can't see it.
They have agreed to create chaos and separation so they can keep us divided and distracted, fighting with each other.
Why do this?
So they can do whatever they want with no accountability.
Neither party believes the other party is trying to destroy America, they just want their voters to believe they do.
It is a plan both parties worked together to achieve.
Why else would both parties be on opposite sides of every single argument.

Good question.

+1 yBoth parties are corrupt. But one side has common sense. The other side does not.
Republicans are sensible they aren't in a echo chamber so sometimes they argue with themselves. But we can all band together against absolute nonsense pushed by the left.

+1 yOn major things, it does happen but it is unlikely. I have a coworker that I greatly respect despite having different beliefs in regards to religion, politics and social norms. But we both agree that the government is way too controlling of peoples lives and wellbeing, that taxes are way too high with no tangible benefits to it, and our desire to protect our families by any means necessary. While I am not a democrat or liberal by any standards, I am more closely linked to Green Libertarianism, if I had to put a label to my ideology.
00 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It is impossible now. The democrats HATE America and want us to suffer and die. They want to abuse small children, let criminals kill innocent people, tax the working people to give it away to criminals, and they want people to use drugs. Democrats are evil.

+1 yCan they ever agree? Hopefully not. The Democrats are communists. Do you want to agree with the people who are running China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, etc. Just ask the people there how that's working out for them.
If you want to be like them just vote for Democrats and see what happens.
00 ReplyI haven’t dipped my toes into politics in a while as I’m apolitical, I just do my own research on controversial topics and trust well accredited institutions and resources. I think the only reason why there are political parties is because people like to think in hive minds. That’s because people can’t think for themselves.
00 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I think things have gone to far to ever come back to where they can agree on something.
Sure after 9-11 they agreed on things, but now good luck.
You mentioned sitting down with a couple of beers and talking things out.
My guess is that one party would want beer, the other party would want wine.
Then it is the shape of the table...
It never seems to end.

+1 yNot on murdering babies. Not on a non crisis like Global Warming. Not on economy. Not on violating the constitution. Not on punishing people just because they were born white. Not on using FBI to kill and arresting Republicans because they are Republicans. Not on riots because you didn't get what you wanted. Not on eliminating free speech.

More like the only thing they agree about is when they vote themselves a pay raise.
I hope not. Just imagine how much more of our money they'd spend if they did.

And that's why the US is in a mess. These clowns are not in it for our good, just for theirs. So even if something would cure cancer or world hunger, they would not do it if it didn't put money in their pocket. Have you noticed that no lawmakers retire without being multimillionaires? That should tell you something right there.
