It's so darn annoying whenever I ask my friends online or in person I always get the "not much" response not to say I don't give that same response Which annoys me more.

Its a really broad question, if you ask a more specific question, or in fact don't ask a question , just talk-- its much much better imo

i hate saying or responding to what's up. wtf am I supposed to say to that. where do you want me to begin, to end. you want to know what I did today , this week , what I'm thinking, what I'm planing what's bothering me. NO . or you would have asked-SPECIFICALLY.

You just don't know what else to say. so if you have something to say say it. if you don't know what you want to say-figure out it FIRST.

i usually just say hi & start talking. I rarely say what's up- unless its been a long while since we talked.

I agree with "knowmeyourself." Ask different questions but you could say to what's up ,"The sky, taxes, the ceiling" or you could say what you're doing "livin life, getting into trouble, going to work."
