Western politicians were able to hustle cheap prices in exchange for weapons, aid and resources. But Russia and China put a stop to all that, and now you're paying the real prices.

Which is ironic as you always get Americans shit talking about socialism and government having too much of a stake. But when the system breaks down you don't want to pay the real prices of things without the interventions that made them cheaper before.

What exactly do you think Trump can DO? Even in a purely advisory context, I didn't see him calling for states not to shut down, or companies to resume operation, once it became clear how overblown the dangers of Covid were. His energy policy is more sensible than Biden's, but Harold Stassen's energy policy is more sensible than Biden's, and he's been dead for twenty years.

Even if he DOES run again, it'll be for President, not God-Emperor.

When Trump was in office gas in my area was $1.85. In the two years Biden has been in office it has more than doubled.

@Agagagagaga The reason this country has lasted as long as it has (aside from being inherited with a huge amount of infrastructure already in place and being geographically isolated from anyone of decent strength who might oppose it) is the Constitution strictly limiting and separating the powers of the three branches of the Federal government. Trump was in power during a time of low gas prices, and yes, shipping costs determine pretty much everything else's cost, and yes, we're VERY overreliant on oil (despite being the world's biggest producer) to keep that shipping going.

But you didn't answer my question- what do you expect him to DO? He's not a genie.

Biden is emphatically NOT a moron; he has very effectively been pushing his policies of undermining the Constitution and undercutting the strength of the American economy for decades. You can call him a TRAITOR, sure, but not a moron. Likewise, on what basis do you claim he stole the election when investigation after investigation found no evidence of that? I'm baffled by it, too, but it seems the propagandists managed to convince the populace that he WAS, in fact, the Antichrist.

It seems, however, that they also convinced YOU, because you're still avoiding the question: what do you expect Trump to DO? He can't lower taxes; those are set by Congress. He can't pass immigration laws; that's Congress, too. He DOES have some authority to make changes to encourage local business growth and reduce reliance on imports, but the main power does, and always has, rest with Congress. Donald Trump is not some great mythical hero come out of the sky to smite your enemies; he's strictly limited by the laws of the land, same as you and me. This kind of attitude is exactly why people accuse Trump's supporters of mindlessly worshiping the guy. Don't fall into the same knee-jerk attitude that so many Democrats, have- think it through. What do you expect Trump to DO? Specifically?

It's bad in Canada as well. I paid $17 for the soup of the day at a fine dining restaurant, that didn't have lobster in it (that you would expect for that price just a few years ago), and there was practically nothing in it, and I was hungry just a few hours later!!!
