In the current economic and social climate, would you rather be wealthy and famous or an average person?

Fame/wealth:

  • Able to afford a socio-economic quality of life that only other wealthy people can enjoy today that the average person still enjoyed in the past.
  • Able to afford enough resources and status to be a top 1-5% man.
  • Allowed to get a free pass for any social mistake and not be punished.
  • Can have sway and some influence and following with causes and issues.

Average:

  • Relative privacy

I am having a hard time right now with any advantages to being an "average" person today besides possibly more anonymity and less scrutiny. Even when an average person and a famous/wealthy person is scrutinized, the average person is treated relatively more harshly than the other. And wealthy enjoy relatively greater standard of living, which in the past the same level was more accessible to average people. This is true financially and also in the dating world because of apps like Tinder, etc.
