Well, again, you've got to go issue by issue, and I certainly don't know every law of every state. Reality is complex, and different places prioritize different things to different degrees (and in different ways, too); breaking things down into "red" and "blue" doesn't give you much by way of truth.

I would say Massachusetts is more conservative than Cali, Oregon, and Washington, due to strict alcohol laws like booze stores being closed on Sundays and a big white Irish Catholic culture, a lot of parents send their children to single sex private Catholic schools.
