ALRIGHT ALRIGHT I wanna add some context to this. What i mean here is they get away with talking about heavy subjects. Thats part one. And other people seem to get in trouble very easily.

And when they have something to say that triggers people and is unpoopular, they somehow get a free pass or get away with it much easier.

Im an independant. Some, not all, but many, somehow bully or shame people for criticizing them at all. Then they make themselves the good guys.

Anytime minority groups criticize democrats and the left they always have some rhetoric about how there self hating and THATS really disrespectful and I can tell you that as a minority myself.

Just because something is a heavy subject or something will upset someone does not mean there is not a way to go about it in a correct (or indeed, incorrect) way. Comedy is a great example. There are comedians who built their entire careers on being offensive and abrasive while others completely fail at it.

It is not even necessarily about being correct or incorrect, although that can certainly help. There is an art to these things. What you are saying might be just as important as how you say it and who you are. Its quite frankly not much of a surprise that liberals are better at this than Republicans who has about as much social grace as a drunk elephant in a china shop.

In a way, its not the liberals you should be asking about but why Republicans consistently fail at this since there is nothing inherently saying they have to be this bad at it.

1. I never said there is not a good and a rude way of getting into a subject. My problem is they think they have the monopoly on social rules, and they shut out any one elses opinion.

2. I love Comedians myself. You gotta let them be edgy, and make jokes, and you gotta be prepared for things some people may not like, and some comedians joke about a topic you dont like, but comedians should definitely be respectful of others.

3. This wasn't about a republican vs democrat question. I am an independant and believe both parties are compromised.

1: I mean.. Name me another group that actually attempts to deal with social rules. If Liberals are the only ones who cares and tries to work with it then by default I think they have a pretty good argument for having a monopoly and if someone who does not want to deal with it barges in then they will obviously get shut out because they handled it incorrectly in the first place.

2: You do not have to "let" comedians be anything. They either read the people they are talking to and the subject correctly which allows them to make good comedy, or they do not and their comedy is really bad. If a comedian stirs outrage unintentionally then they probably just failed at their one job and should consider a different occupation.

3: There is a very big difference between how Democrats and Republicans handles social issues which means that they will have completely different results when trying to deal with heavy subjects. You might not like this, but there is a political divide here.

I am using the example of Comedians as a neutral and representative allegory. Why? Because I have no compunctions to assume you would not be intellectually honest and accept a direct example at face value. Why? Because, from everything that I know about you, I have to assume that you are a far right ideologue. You may think yourself as an independent and you can demand that I call you that but in my mind that is pointless because it does not fit with your beliefs.

My point was that there is no "allowing" someone to talk about heavy subjects or triggering people. No one "allows" liberals or "forbids" conservatives or whatever. It is an art and entirely dependent on you as a person to pull off. Its up to you if it succeeds or fails, no one else is to blame which has always been a sticking point for people like you who feel entitled to being exempted from scrutiny for whatever reason.

And here is where the divide between Liberals and Conservatives comes in. One of these groups are just much better at navigating this artform which allows them a better change to talk about these things without fucking it up. The other, AKA the Conservatives, does not bother with these considerations and therefore makes an arse of themselves every time they try. As the kids say these days, its a skill issue. The Conservatives needs to git gud.

When i worked at a college Obama beat Mitt Romney in the 2012 election. The professor who had the office next to mine was quick to rub my nose in it. She knew I supported Romney. Four years later when Trump won I thought about doing a little gloating of my own. However, this woman spent the next few weeks in tears, hiding out in her office. I just did not have the heart to do it.
