From what I understand it is a legal theory about how lawyers of certain races treat defendents of certian races. Or something like that.

But the whole point of it is its obscurity. That way right wingers can call whatever they want CRT and people would be too busy trying to figure out if it even is to argue the point of whether it is good or bad. The idea is to make schools miserable so they can give that money to private schools. They want to enrich their private school owner friends and reinstate school segregation. They have been after this for four decades, but local support for public schools has proven too strong for defunding (their most reliable method to destroy something in an effort to handout the service to private industry) to break it, so they attacked local support with CRT and such.

It's a new age spin on the Frankfurt School's Critical Theory. The Frankfurt School focuses on "Social" Research as in Socialism with the aim of developing Marxist studies. They were doing this in the Weimar Republic prior to the rise of Nazi Germany. Thus Critical Race Theory is Communism at surface value. If you examine it close though, it is a tool of chaos to foster violent revolution and general instability in order to create the conditions of a power vacuum where totalitarian dictatorship can rise to ultimate power. You have to destroy a system, if you want to replace it with a new one. So the role of the communist is to destroy freedom, so that dictatorship can replace it.

Critical Race Theory explains that white people are bad, but it leaves out the part where Democrats started slavery and the KKK. It also leaves out the part about affirmative action that screwed over white people. It also leaves out the part where Biden announced that his pick for a supreme court justice would be a black woman.

Critical race theory is just a tool to measure how much laws and culture is changed by our perception of race and ethnicity. For example, you can use it to identify racism in a nations laws or social movements. There is nothing really special about it.
