It’s possible. Even a cursory examination of the history of the mafioso in the US clearly indicates they were extremely community oriented and developed a fairly democratic system. In as much as any such organization would seek more influence, politics is a natural transition. We know with certainty that they continue to hold cards in the deep state game, so it’s more than likely they have had multiple legislators and representatives over the decades. Supporting presidential candidates would be an inevitability, and seating a US president isn’t that far fetched all things considered.
