5.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It hasn't wrecked my life or anything. Suffragettes, first, second, third, and fourth wave feminism, as well as ecofeminism are just the results of various schools of thought that would never have been necessary if women had always had equal rights and opportunity.
Naturally, the schools of thought go in lots of different directions. They're just food for thought. Nobody has to comply with all the tenets of so-called feminism. They can agree with some ideas and even put some into action, but they don't have to agree with everything.
I once read about left-liberetarianism and was surprise by its long and rich history in which many diverse schools of thought evolved and branched off over time. It was all about the common man's search for a just world. It was born out of historic injustice at the hands of monarchs, governments, corporations, and powerful, wealthy elites.
Feminism is the history of women's search for a world that treats women justly. It was born out of historic injustice toward women.
Where there is injustice, struggles for justice are inevitable.
I don't know any women who haven't benefited from feminism but, aside from a few "woke" but clueless liberals, or women who major in "women's studies", I don't know any women who subscribe radical aspects of feminism.
So I really don't care about the loud, militant voices of feminism who harbor bitterness and resentment toward men. They are a small minority and most are opportunists.
When I meet someone, I assess them on an individual bases to see if I like them. If there is something about their attitude or personality I don't like, I distance myself. But I won't reject a woman who supports feminism unless she's a wild-eyed activist with wacky ideas. I would reject such women because I consider them to be irrational ideologues.
I admire smart, plucky, hard working, women who are determined to succeed. I value my own independence and think women have the same right. Such women seek a partner because they want one, not because they need one to survive.
I also celebrate the advent of contraceptives and the sexual liberation of women.
I doubt if "third wave" feminism, in particular, has harmed society even if some of the various ideologies are off the rails. I can simply laugh as some of those ideas. But other ideas may be worth consideration. And I think feminism in general has benefited society.
There are a lot of very feminine, heterosexual women out there who like men but also agree with aspects of feminism. I admire that. It means that they aren't dummies or door mats. And I'm not afraid that their minds will be corrupted by the more toxic elements of feminist thought because smart women think for themselves.

The 60s/70s were put down by the 80s. Around 1990, a whole different Branding emerged driven more on hate, revolt, and an intended effort to destroy the Enemy (patriarchy). Some contended the Clarence Thomas hearing spurred this development as Feminist had the perfect Storm for Systematic claims. Black Female and Black Male equals a failed Patriarchal System.
Communists, enemies of traditional Families, enemies of Conservative values, Hollywood, and all forms of Media and Business got on board. It is similar to the CRT that we confront today.
Through Systems like Government, Business, Media, Entertainment, Department of Education etc, a New Day was launched. One staunched in annihilation rather than Well-Being.
Anyway, from the 1960-1988 Feminist rose and fell. From 1990-2020 Feminist rose and began the Second Wave of Societal Revolution.
We are approaching the 70th year in this last decade. Remember, it takes 30 year cycle to reveal the rebellion that identifies eventually in Revolution. There are many other Systemic factors involved at the last decade into a Global Revolution. UN and it’s version of our NOW (national org of women) and are the individual global national state/countries too.
Other factors being population and demographics changes coming together in a Global Feminist effort that ultimately ends traditional family, individual state freedom, and a consolidating factor in forming Global Governance. Whether it will be the boys or girls in Global governance control is remained to be seen….

Its originally supposed to be a human rights movement just like the civil rights movement where people of color were fighting for their rights.
That's the entire point of "feminism"
For places where woman dont have basic human rights, it is meant to be a voice for them.
But there's always these people who get offended over the name
They even did that for the "Black Lives Matter" thing...
bruh
its a name
and it doesn't mean that Women are trying to overpower u
Chill tf out.
And all those "loud people" yelling... they were part of every movement... there were loud people in almost every movement for independence and human right all over the world and all over history
Some people are just loud.
That doesn't mean u start focusing on the loud people and use it as an excuse to evade the real problems. The real problem is that there are countries where women dont have basic rights and therefore need help.
And u "Shouldn't" be needing a feminist to convince u as to why u should be concerned about these women
It's about humanity and the whole biosphere as we know it... Its not that only women are affected when women are oppressed, everyone who is a human is heavily affected by injustices against women because these women will mother the future generations and the last thing u want is to grow up with depressed cranky abusive mothers. And guys are very affected by their mothers, next ull know he went full psycho on women and became a sadistic psychopath because he had bad relationship with his mother. Then he sits in the jail and hires a lawyer who tells him to pretend that the demons took over him and then they lock him up in an asylum for the rest of his life that is the best case scenario if he is not hanged that is.

It's amazing to me. You're right on so many points. Are you aware that the majority of prison inmates come from single mother households? More than 90% of violent inmates come from single mother households. Yet what you've just articulated well. Society turns away from what happens in these households.
My only pushback to you would be. Why do modern women ask men to campaign for women's rights around the world, why won't women do it?
That's the part that really confuses me. Why are modern women trying to force men to champions your battles for you?
Kind regards, - +1 y
@DoctorSex Its not about whether men should campaign or women should campaign. Its about taking into consideration that it affects us all as humans and what we can do to sort it out.
When u find an angry feminist yelling at u that's because something bad happened to her and she is simply projected her pain and hurt on you.
Is she justified? Maybe no.
But at least "understanding" where she is coming from helps u to objectively understand the scenario and do something about it.
But in a lot of cases a feminist being rude does trigger a lot of men and the bad experiences they had with women which is why they feel so negatively towards this stuff
The whole idea is to let go of the pain and to work together and objectively figure out what is good for both of us... We can't convince anyone with anger, men and women alike. - +1 y
That sounds great. But understanding works two ways. Does it now?
How can a woman ask a man to understand her but care so little about understanding the damage that feminism has caused to the society he has to live in?
Then to ask him to support you in exporting that mindset? Doesn't that appear to you to be illogical?
That would be like me asking you to help me relive your worst nightmares.😄
I love the airy-fairy happy vibes for the future you want to create. But I just wonder if you realise how much that future costs others even though you may not be the one who has to pay for it. - +1 y
@DoctorSex
Thats exactly what I said. They should understand u and u should understand them.
But we live in a world where everyone wants to receive but no one wants to give.
Everyone wants benefits but they dont want to make the first move
Thats very sad.
The people who make the first moves however are doing well in their lives and have less discord with the other gender as well.

+1 yIf you are referring to Third Wave Feminism, then YES! Definitely they’ve more harm than good! But I do consider myself a second wave feminist! Just pay me the same as a man who works the same hours than I, and we’ll have no issues! But I do NOT expect to earn the same as a man who works longer hours than me, and nobody should! The fact that we have the same title, does not mean that we work the same amount! I believe in fairness, treat me fairly and I have no issues with what you pay someone who has more experience, or who works longer hours!

This is objectively true. Literally the ONLY positive changes made from feminism throughout history were the very MINOR changes second wave feminism brought the world through the 60s civil rights movement, that was largely piggybacking off the black civil rights movement MLK was advocating for.
First wave feminism, the suffragettes, literally delayed women's voting rights by nine years due to arson, vandalism, and violence. They were legitimately the BLM of their day. Not to mention, the White Feather movement to shame young men into going to war in WW1 and dying for no reason.

And third wave feminism, starting in 1992, gave us BS like "rape culture, the wage gap, and patriarchy (misandry)." It has quite literally done nothing positive or beneficial for society.

And fourth wave feminism, which is only ten years old now and inspired by Bell Hooks, is the Tumblr, Twitter, intersectional feminism that not only hates white people, but also says "women of color" and transwomen are more important than white women and "CIS women." It's the sh*ttier, blue-haired daughter of third wave feminism.

So yes, feminism has literally almost always been a toxic hate movement, and even the "good" feminism of the 1960s had known misandrists like Valerie Solanas in it. Feminism has objectively done more damage and spread more hate in society, than it has helped in anything.
61 ReplyHave you also noticed that they never export feminism? They never fight for feminism in other countries. Do you know why? Because most women around don't recognise them as a female equal. It's truly sad. So they stay in the western bubble arguing about the Patriarchy that preserves the mindset they hold so dear to them.
It doesn't matter where I go in the world. The women are dying for me to marry them.😊. I feel like a King everywhere I go. They follow me around their country and introduce me to their mother's and father's. "The guy from the west with the soft skin" 😆
I head back to the west and modern women tell me "you'll die alone", "us women over here are winning" ... When I ask them what they've won. It's usually their solitude 🤷.
Feminism has destroyed the mindset of modern women.
It's the mindset that has been totally destroyed. They don't live in reality. I feel so sorry for them in a non condescending way. They're been ruined by western feminist propaganda.
Sad sad sad.

+1 yYes it has. It's not about equality anymore, just superiority or promoting a false narrative that western women are oppressed, which they are not. Most women of the middle east are oppressed, but western women, hellll no. It was never supposed to continue to be pushed that women are inferior as individuals to men. It was never supposed to represent the dramatic and toxic nature of women who band together to cause trouble. It was never meant to promote misandry. Let alone, during the first wave of feminism, they didn't want to really represent black women until Sojourner Truth had to call it out on it's temporary BS by her "Ain't I a woman?" Speech
Feminism was about encouraging women to have equal rights as men. To have equal opportunities of men, regardless of outcome.00 ReplyFeminism ruin western countries and japan, feminists are choosing money over family.

+1 yNo matter how you put it 1st wave 4th wave it doesn't matter. Feminism was formed from the root of Marxism which is exactly what feminism is, Marxism. And I'll tell you what feminism has done for me. I set me free. I closed my businesses, I swore off the idea of ever dating getting married or having children. Never will I again revisit the idea.
10 ReplyThere are 2 types of feminism; 1) Where women deserve equal rights as men, or 2) a break away group that is just anti men.
If you're referring to the first, it's brilliant. The more men that support women's rights, the better. I'm a feminist myself.
If you're referring to the second, it's just an insult to the first. I have no time for this group.00 Reply

Women have always had the same damn standards they’ve always had, they had the same beliefs and same mating practices.
The only difference today is that they got jobs, and they don’t need some moron to become her Father.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yIt's a matter of perspective. If you're a woman that values her independence above all then it's done more good. But if you're a traditional woman then it has done more harm. Overall I don't even think it's debatable that it has crippled long held gender roles of millenia. I do think it'll ultimately be for societal benefit. But I do think it's going to get a whole lot worse before it ever gets better.

In 1997, Hillary Clinton made a famous speech in Beijing about women's rights. Sadly, many of the things that she wanted to change are still true today, but what stood out for me the most was that less than 30 percent of the audience were male. How can we effect change in the world when only half of it is invited or feel welcomed to participate in the conversation? Men, I would like to take this opportunity to extend your formal invitation.
Gender equality is your issue too. Because to date, I've seen my father's role as a parent being valued less by society despite my needing his presence as a child as much as my mother's. I've seen young men suffering from mental illness, unable to ask for help for fear it would make them less of a men or less of a man. In fact, in the UK, suicide is the biggest killer of men between 20 to 49, eclipsing road accidents, cancer and coronary heart disease. I've seen men made fragile and insecure by a distorted sense of what constitutes male success. Men don't have the benefits of equality either.
We don't often talk about men being imprisoned by gender stereotypes, but I can see that they are and that when they are free, things will change for women as a natural consequence. If men don't have to be aggressive in order to be accepted, women won't feel compelled to be submissive. If men don't have to control, women won't have to be controlled. Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong.
Emma Watson said this in front of the United Nations when she was appointed as a goodwill ambassador.
