Is there something wrong with the young generation?

As a member of the young generation I see LOTS of hate. We're too sensitive, lazy, liberal blah blah blah. What's your opinion? In reality my generation and people younger than me are have been raised through recessions, very strange political events, pandemics, social media and access to technology. So we're bound to be a little different. But I don't think the generation is as negative as older people seem to think we are

If you ask the older generation, yes- it's pattern that's been repeating without interruption for at least the past four thousand years. Boomers were all crazy hippies, Gen Xers are all slackers who can't get jobs, Millennials want everything handed to us... it keeps going, and is pretty much meaningless.

Now, the VERY youngest generation, the kids of the oldest Zoomers, are a different story- a horrifying number of them spent critical formative years unable to see human faces, and have retarded social development as a result. Hopefully, they can recover, but speech therapists are going to be in HUGE demand in the next several years.

People said the same thing when I was a kid. My kids are smart, motivated and sucessful and so are most of their friends. There are a few people on this site that are very above average as well. The kids are alright.

They're too soft. They think the worst the world has to offer is injustices and even then it's sterile because all they see of it, is on a screen. Most have never gone hungry for a few days. Most haven't been nearly murdered. Almost none have any survival skills or camping experience outside of a hooked up campground.

If there was a hunger game between me and them, I'd kill every last one of them. They should be thankful society allows them to be so soft and complacent, and prepare themselves for when that safety is no longer there, and they end up in our world.

I feel like that may be true for some of my generation. Not me I've been self-sufficient for many years at this point. My oldest brother can probably relate to you as he stepped up and raised the rest of us as kids. But on a large scale we are the poorest generation in awhile the economy is in fucking shambles. Do you think it's any harder now for people going into adulthood right now vs when you turned 18 and went out on your own. (Or whenever you did)

Well I say you should be thankful to your brother because I personally think it was your parents job to take care of you not your brother he was a kid himself watching you.
No at least for people you're age group or generation isn't hard. Well to star off with now a days parents allowed their young adult children to stay at home as long as they want to.
In my case I got a job when I was 14 because I was told by my parents once you are 18 you're out of here. I save all the money I could I didn't spend money unless it was a need at dollar tree. Now my now my younger siblings they're in their early 20's and still living at my mom's house interesting they don't have to worry about buying food, or buying shampoo body wash all they have to do is stretch their arms and grab. Excuses excuses oh times where easy back in 2011 uh no times have been always the same people struggling with finances and people that are responsible with money and know how to manage it. So I must say nothing has changed except your generation people are so spoiled and complain a lot.

Absolutely I am and we have a great relationship. I'm quite grateful he doesn't resent me as it seems you do with your siblings. I'm sorry you were left to your own devices at a young age though but it seems like you've learned really valuable lessons. Sooner or later those younger than you will learn those same things. I do think to say things are the same as they were in 2011 is a little bit off base but I digress, I don't need to change your mind.

Well don't taken it the wrong way. But I always think a kid should enjoy being a kid and parents shouldn't put that responsibility of another human being on the child's shoulders. If a parent can't handle dealing with one child then they have no business in having more.

Nobody wants to admit they’re not as good as someone else. So this cycle has repeated with every generation since we were tracking this stuff. Thing is, up until now i never struggled to think of something positive any given generation has actually CONTRIBUTED. Can’t think of anything now. To be fair, i think about it as little as possible.
