It depends on if you want to save anything for the future or not because China sure as hell ain't going to without the US giving them something.
China and everyone poor are having the same thoughts: why bother about tomorrow when we can't eat today?
Look at Vietnam. Years ago the government forbid people from chopping down trees for environmental reasons. Without trees the whole region would be flooded and everyone dies. Nobody cared because they needed the sell wood for cash.
Now hundreds people die every year due to flood.
But they have a new business digging up sand in the delta now. Of course it will kill off all the fish, the rice paddy and also cause more severe flooding.
Environmental stuff is like that. Nobody has to do anything but kicking the can down the road. It's not like you have to pay for it until you do.

Make me boil. Really? A car weighing 2000 kilograms and has 500kg of lithium batteries, would gain 250kgs when switched to sodium batteries because they're 2/3 as energy dense. Really? Does the vehicle give that much shit over a 10% weight gain? Dumb excuses. That's why the company who started selling sodium batteries in US last decade went bankrupt, AND I see tons of people saying they wish they bought some, and others say they bought and are glad they did.
Sodium ion batteries are 2-3 times cheaper to manufacture than lithium per kwh of capacity, they are more predictable in their work, and last for many decades regardless of charge and discharge patterns.
Actually there they are for sale in India and china, but you need 8KG of battery to have one kwh stored, and so shipping is only efficient in huge quantities. And they're impossible to build at home from scratch, even though the materials are simple table salt. I'll be looking into making my own compressed hydrogen as fuel I guess.

Or just find stuff that's made here and order it online. There needs to be a demand for American made products. They're out there, although maybe not everything we want is made here, there is still plenty. The fact is we would have to be ok with paying more for goods to compensate the higher wages here. Also, American made cars are unfortunately Toyota and Honda as examples. Many of those cars are made by American workers. This example you have to ask yourself which is more important. Buying a foreign brand or the one that actually employs American workers. I don't care about corporate profits more than I care that Americans are working and making a fair wage. So if it's between a Ford made in Australia (no offense to Australians), or a Toyota made in America, I'd be more likely to buy the Toyota. Too many American corporations have bailed on America.
My point is although I do believe a balance of a global market are healthy, Americans do need to do more research and find the companies that are still here and buy from them or from companies that employ American workers on American soil.
One example for clothing is American giant. Everything is made here even the cotton. They make hoodies, zip ups , jackets , jeans etc. It's expensive but really well made stuff. So if you're sitting here complaining about china, do your best to use the internet, and find American made stuff and buy it. It does matter
Additionally, I know this doesn't solve everything people are worried about here but this is a more controllable way to support how you feel and put it to good use.

For example internet and phone expenses, utility expenses, office supplies, electronics, health and dental insurance premiums, mortgage interest, employee entertainment, business meals, car expenses/fuel, travel expenses, education expenses, postage, etc. If you keep your reported income low enough, the federal government actually pays you an earned income tax credit yet you can use your income to pay all sorts of shared expenses between your daily life and your work life. You and wife are both members of your corporation. You talk business over a meal, business expenses. You had to drive your company car to that meeting at a restaurant and use fuel, business expense. You have food in your office refrigerator lounge that you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner like Twitter with their cafeteria with wine on the roof, business expense.
