What if German Reich and Japanese Empire won WW2?

Not like the picture. The simple truth is that after the dawn of the 20th century, NOBODY has been in a position to conquer the US- it's simply too big and too populous. It's part of why the Cold War never went hot; neither country could reasonably invade the other.

If the Axis HAD won the war, they simply would've continued their programs of militarism and genocide, slowly expanding until they crumbled from within.

Yeah but the nazis actually had a pretty decent foothold in American society. I’d argue that had the nazis taken over Europe and Africa as well as Japan taking Asia we would see a massive increase in pro nazi ideas. However this never came to pass specifically because Japan decided to sink a few docked ships along with the harbor itself.

And had the American nazis gotten more time I’m sure ultimately the Germans would have won due to supply shortage for the allies.

@crossdressingrihno Well... no. Nazi Germany was never in a place to do more than force Stalin to a ceasefire. Without American lend-lease support, they might've been able to- but maybe not. Germany's entire strategy hinged upon blitzkrieging as many enemies as possible, to avoid protracted engagements that ground armies away through attrition (it's why Poland's benevolent germ warfare worked), and that's the only way Russia's ever fought a war.

American Nazis were never a large group; there was just much more public support for their ideas than American society at large wants to admit. The best case for a Axis victory would've been taking down everyone who could reasonably oppose them, then expanding their borders somewhat more than they did- but not much. The end of wartime limitations would've seen practical support fall off in their fringe territories, and eventually back home; it's the way all extremist regimes that aren't cracked from the outside end.

@crossdressingrihno Dude, I lived half a dozen miles from where they marched in SKOKIE. A bunch of loons going out to march does not denote a massive groundswell of public political support.

If it were a small one off thing I’d agree. However as stated in the article and now by you it’s not just one off thing and it definitely wasn’t small. Sure not every household in the US was waving nazi flags and “sucking up the glorious mustache” but their was a decent foothold and with time it would have grown significantly

You never seen the movie "The Philadelphia Experiment 2". It wasn't a very good movie. But a stealth bomber experiment to make it truly invisible accidentally sends it back through time 50 years. And it appears in Berlin. And the Nazi's use it to defeat the allies.

My belief is that the only scenario where Nazi Germany and imperial Japan could have won WW2 is if the BEF had been destroyed at Dunkirk, with no army in 1940 the British would have been vulnerable to invasion and either surrendered or have been invaded and not been able to defend territories overseas like in North africa and the Middle east.

With Britain out of the war Germany would have had all the resources it would ever need having control of all the European colonial empires

In this scenario Japan would not have attacked Pearl Harbour or gone to war with America. America before Pearl Harbour had been supporting Japan's enemies with American made military equipment and putting embargoes on resources Japan needed for their economy and war in China. As an Axis member and with Nazi Germany in control of the European colonial empires they would not only have been able to trade with Europe and all their colonial possessions for the resources it needed but also may have been able to agree with the nazis that south east Asia was in the Japanese sphere of influence gaining all European colonies there places like french indochina, Dutch east indies, Malya, Hong Kong and the rest.

America would maybe not feel in a strong enough postion to oppose the Axis and depending on who is power may even decide to back either Nazi Germany against Russia by selling them war materials like they did with Britain during two world wars or by backing the soviet union against Germany like they were doing with China against Japan. The US may even have had its own extremist right wing regime, remember the kkk were still pretty strong and may have agreed to spheres of influence with Germany, Italy and spain in Europe, Russia, Africa and the Middle east. Japan in China and south east Asia. America would take its slice of the world which would include Greenland, Canada, Central America, South America the Caribbean, Cuba, Haiti, the Falklands and possibly Australia and New Zealand and a fairly large slice Antarctica.

As for the Soviets Union I believe Nazi Germany being able to concentrate its military and resources on the invasion Russia backed by the military manpower of Britain, France, Norway, Finland, Romania, Spain, Italy, Greece, Yugoslavia, Hungary and possibly Turkey backed by their economies and with all their resources the soviet union would not be able to withstand a German lead invasion even if America was selling them military equipment. I mean can you imagine WW2 British and German technology and economic production combined. Imagine a luftwaffe 262 jet with British meteor engines, or the Royal Navy serving nazi Germany, Luftwaffe fw190s flying off British built aircraft carriers, British soldiers armed with the STg 43, or Panther and tiger panthers with British engines in them. I do believe within 2 years the Red Army would have been annihilated and within a decade the majority of the Russian population wiped out.

I dont believe the Man in the Hightower scenario was ever possible. I dont believe any of Axis would ever be able to project the kind of force needed to invade America successfully. Though I will concede that the US military was considerably small pre 1939.
