Should an acknowledgement speech of respect be given to the first nations peoples as the Traditional Owners of Europe be made every chance we get?

The woke are normalizing speeches like this in Australia at the beginning of every formal event even parliament.

We want to acknowledge Australia’s First Nations people and Traditional Custodians for their care for the land, waters, wildlife and culture of this country. First Nations people hold unique knowledge and rights inherited from their ancestors and Country itself and have cared for this country since time immemorial.

But Australias first nation people didn't care for the land. That's just a romanticized myth. They were directly responsible for the extinction of all of Australia's Megafauna.

The reality is before Europeans came they had failed to make any progress beyond the stone age. No written language or mathematics. No metal working. Even their art never advanced past primitive cave paintings.
