They can be very harmful to a community, it's like saying that all guys are only interested in sex, or all girls are too emotional, or anything like that. It's the root of racism sexism classicism and other things. When you make those generalizations it sets up an expectation that the generalization is the norm, or like saying all homophobes are just closed gays. I'm just sitting out examples, it's just blatantly ignorant and ignoring the fact that every person no matter their race sexuality or gender can grow to be entirely different people or even similar to others. You're characterizing a whole group of people and putting them into a box, which makes it difficult for them to set their own standards of who they are individually

If a guy is overweight or fat, should he work out and get in better since women in GENERAL prefer a man that's fit?

I don't think anyone should do anything for anyone other then themselves, if your doing it for someone else's approval your doing to be disappointed. If he wants to lose weight because he feels like he should regardless of what a girl or anyone wants them I say go for it! But if he's doing it to gain the attention of a girl or for outside validation your just setting yourself up to constantly feel bad about yourself. Also I don't know about other girls but the ones I hang out with could care less about your weight they just want someone who will treat them right and who loves themselves

He's not doing it for approval, he's doing it to have a shot in the dating world

Generalizations, Categories, and Labels discriminate against individuality and were initially a way to classify large groups of people. The Communists do it to depreciate Value and the hyphenated race delineation is one of them. The prejudice and stereotyping that comes from some labeling or generalizations is a difficult situation. We need definition, such as tax code, however, there are effects. People have to out class their Classification assignment or placement. It is the individual's issue ultimately.

Because they often lead to being judged.
