Did you know that the 10th president of the United States born in 1790, had a grandson living today?

His name is Harrison Ruffin Tyler. I find it incredible to think that this man's grandfather was born in the 18th century, was elected president of the United States and was a contomporan of Napoleon.

So how is it possible? Very simple, the president had a son, Lyon Tyler, at 63 years old, and Lyon had a son, Harrison Tyler, at 75 years old!

It's crazy to think that 3 generations of men cover a large part of the history of the United States!

My own grandfather would be 154 years old if he were alive. I have a first cousin who fought in WW2.

That's what happens when you have kids at an older age. A couple of generations of that and the years add up real quick. Tyler was born in 1790 and his grandson was born in 1928.

When I was a kid there were people alive who were alive during the US civil war. I knew at least one of them. When I started working in engineering, I worked with an old guy who not only knew the Wright Brothers, he was a draftsman and did drawings for the early planes.

So, 1790+63 = 1853. Okay, so 1853 is when the PRESIDENT'S son was born. Okay

In that case then, 1853+75= 1928. So 1928 LYON'S son was born! Holy shit! I think you're right. 2022-1928=94. So Harrison is 94 years old.

I have actually of that but I thought that grandson died recently.
Hard to believe someone alive (now or recently) was the grandson of someone who was born almost a quarter of a millennium ago.
