People complain about the Second Amendment and how guns need to be restricted and there’s no reason to own an AR-15 rifle, etc. I’ve heard of people shouting that we have rights, and these rights can’t be taken away. Holocaust Survivor Irene Fogel Weiss asked a very good question. The quote is below.

“You hear younger kids in high school saying, ‘I have my rights.’ Well, what if you don’t have any rights and the police are on the other side? They don’t protect you and just stand by while people do you harm or take out anything from your home. It’s a very difficult concept that we were guilty of something. We were guilty of being alive just by virtue of being a Jew. You were hunted.”

Despite your opinion on the second amendment, answer her question honestly. Give it some thought. What would you do?

She's wrong.

The police aren't there to "protect" you, they are there to serve the law and state. The rest of her argument is moot. Also, the Nazi party actually stole from everyone, not just Jews. If you were "against" the state - they sent you to the camps - Jew or not.

But her argument is irrelevant to the second amendment. There were Jewish terrorist groups then, and the black market for guns in Nazi Germany was sizable. The real problem with the second amendment is that it's naïve.

If everyone is armed, then everyone is unsafe as it only takes one numbnut to start a gunfight. Think of it in terms of a food fight, one guy starts it and everyone gets drawn in and involved quickly after - only with guns instead.

Then let’s get rid of guns. Ban guns and the only the police and the federal government are the only ones that can use them. Since they’re the most responsible

I bought a handgun and a shotgun last year. These are the first firearms I have owned. I bought them because the police are being defunded and the house next door had been broken into while I was laid up after having surgery. I never really imagined I would need to defend my home from the FBI or IRS but we are in uncharted waters now.

Our police in the old days was protect and serve.
Today small towns don't even pay the police and protect and serve has turned to pull one over for nonthing to see what they find.
It wait behind something and someone got a vehicle going faster than speed then the cop pulled them over and all towns collect money and buy new police car. We are now in a police state
