What do you think about Japanese people?

I will work in Japan on March. I never go to Japan before. I am afraid that I can't make a friend with japanese people. So, I need to know about japanese people first.

They are called the Germans of Asia (punctual, organized, efficient…). The workplaces are male dominated and hierarchical. There are lots and lots of unwritten rules (bows > handshakes) that you might break. Then again, they realize a foreigner can’t know them.

They are much more business-minded and meritocratic than your average person in the US or Europe. You should also start learning at least some basic Japanese, for obvious reasons.

They're people like any other. You'll find just about anyone in Japan too. From idiots to geniuses. Just know that they have their culture and you're the one visiting.
