In Sweden cash is only used 6% of the time.

This year Sweden is expected to get rid of all cash transactions along with some other Nordic countries in short time span.

China is building a model system to get rid of all cash transactions in the future as well.

What nonsense. First of all, just because its a cashless society does not mean you have to get a microchip. More specifically, bank cards are used. The chips are only for enthusiasts who wants it and they are pretty much also the ones who makes their own technology, AKA design the chips, not the government.

I am also tired of Christians thinking the "number of the beast" is 666. The reason people obsess about this today is literally because of the lyrics of a song rather than actually reading your own god damn scriptures. The ACTUAL number is more likely to be 616. Please, at least learn your own religion.

Also that is not a 6 in barcode. Barcodes is split into 7 lines of white and black, and as such the 6 with its two black lines might look superficially similar to the indicators but are binary different because they do not share the same white and black numerical values. In fact, the start, middle and end marker is not even formatted in the same way as the rest of the barcode. They are just alternating 1's and 0's with the first and last being 101 and the middle being 01010.

Have you thought exactly what is cash?
It is a medium of exchange, how exactly can a goverment prevent you from trading whatever you want for whatever you want?

That it simply ceases to offer bank notes?

The Bank note wasn't even invented by the state but rather Banks thus the name. Banks to this day still issue their own bank notes in the form of personal checks.

An invention of the free banking era, where people if they so choose can write their own bank notes.
The current system of cash is essentially a bearer bond a kind of IOU which anyone can issue.

How does the Goverment stop people from issuing them beyond refusing to enforce the translation. A problem we already have with existing agreement.

In the case of theses united States you would have to get all 50 states onboard, as any state can choose to enforce such contract as indeed states were the original goverment to charter banks and back their banknotes.

The feds getting into said game was very controversial.

I know how to farm and grow crops. I also know how to hunt, both with a rifle and other means. I know how to boil water to make it drinkable. I know how to build shelter. I can survive without buying stuff.

As for the question, I would not take the chip. This is too eerily similar to the mark of the beast in Revelation. My soul matters more to me than anything else and I will not condemn it to hell just to appease a worldly government.

Even taking God out of the equation, there are two major flaws with taking these chips. First, they are so easy to hack. ANYTHING connecting to the internet can be hacked. It does not matter how advanced your security measures are, someone will find a way around them. Second, these chips make it impossible to not be tracked against your will.

Leaves you vulnerable to cyber attack. Allows the government to track your earnings and tax every transaction for example giving your kids pocket money. Or if they decide you earned too much one month or you made a little cash from selling personal property well they'd have to add sales tax etc.

Wait a moment. That´s going way too far way too quickly for me. Scandinavic countries people are already paying without cash. Like they´ve done so for years in most cases. That they now change in a completely cashless society is a small step it´s not that much of a deal to them.

I would hope there would be a significant counter-movement of people who are so determined not to get chipped that they would choose to instead live off the grid in their own community separate from mainstream society. It would probably go the way of a commune... and typically probably end up fairly cultish... but I'd still rather take that than the chip. So I'd hope to join other people who'd rather just go off and make their own commune basically.

It depends on the nature of the cash substitute. Most governments are interested in using cash alternatives to have more control over the population and their privacy. They want solutions that can use to track their transactions. For that reason, cash is a more private means of exchange for the populace. It is generally untraceable.

But cryptocurrency has the potential to change the dynamic. The concept is good for a society that values privacy and wants an easier means of exchange. But it is off to a rocky start having been hijacked by all kinds of fraud and corruption. And governments hate it since they cannot surveil and control their citizens who use it (politicians want to protect their monopoly on corruption). So I think it will be a long time before it might become widely accepted and used.

We are going to be a cashless society at some point. Consumers have largely embraced cashless payment methods already and cash will naturally phase itself out. Soon not enough people will use it to justify the tax dollars spent to mint physical money and to enforce counterfeiting laws. There’s no nefarious plot. The consumers are dictating the shift, just as they killed US manufacturing by preferring to buy cheaper foreign made goods. I highly doubt anyone will be microchipped. Debit/credit cards are already chipped. There’s no need for something that invasive.
