Did you ever wish you were born of a different race?

I wish I was born Asian, into an Asian family. My dad is white (American) and my mom is Mexican. I'm mix, I never liked American culture, I don't fit in with society here. I've never cared for sports or going to bars which I found most adult Americans enjoy. I don't and can't get along with my daughter's friends moms because they talk about drinking, which I don't resonate with. I found most rich Americans are greedy. I don't enjoy Mexican culture either, they too drink a lot. I don't think Mexican families have the best values in raising their kids, my mom compared me a lot to other girls growing up and didn't encourage me to do good in school. She didn't really teach me good things. Also, most Americans and Mexicans are either Christians or Catholics and this also never resonated with me. A few years ago, I went to a Buddhist Temple and it's as if I found what I was looking for my whole life. I began to learn about Asian culture, traditions and Buddhism. I like how much Asians value honor. I like how they stick together and parents raise their kids right. Asians help other Asians, they are not greedy like Americans. I feel depressed and I feel like if I had been born into an Asian family I would have been happier. I'm not saying there aren't negative aspects to being Asian or it's all positive, I know there's a balance of good and bad in all life but it seems to me like Asians have better values. Anyone else ever experience anything like this?
