Well, first off- does the German Foreign minister have the authority to declare war? Here in the US, Congress has to vote on it; I don't know how it works in Germany. Without official backing, it's just blowing hot air- for all that THAT means.

In more practical terms: Russia and Germany and arguing over the land between them, and the US is meddling in the ways it finds to be most profitable (financially or otherwise). That's exactly how the last two World Wars began; I'm not exactly eager to see it repeated. Unfortunately, there isn't really anything I can do about it.

of course she does not have that authority to do that. she's just a dumb bitch who isn't qualified to have that job... but consider: we're talking about russia... and you know how heated current interantional relations already are right? wouldn't surprise me if Putin took that as a reason considering he already threattened declaring war if we continue delivering war machinery to ukraine (which we just decided to send a huge batch of tanks over).

by the way this isn't even anything territorial between germany and russia. NATO just forces us to be aggressive towards russia on behalf on a "wannabe" Nato country that's not even in nato... even though that is not in our (germanies) best interest at all. and i bet the USA would be licking their fingers if germany and larger parts of Europe would be ground to pieces in a war with the east... helps them re-establish the global hegemon position they were rapidly losing for the last decades.

Much of the current US economy is based around imports; if Eurasia pounded itself into power again, we'd not be in a position to do much of anything to profit from it.

yup. i know that's the USAs position but for "some" reason our EU always abides by NATOs will and never does anything that the americans wouldn't like. it's not that i have anything against USA or Russia. but if we don't stop letting the rest of the world peg us, we'll have a grim future. Not only us. the USA also. because the weaker we are, the weaker the USAs current overall alliences get. so i think it's very short sighted of the USA to weaken us. Cause what are they gonna do against China if we're not able to help?

yes you are absolutely right about the process of an actual "declaration of war". though such a vocal brain fart is not a thing our nation can afford in such a heated geopolitical climate... that's my point. Yes it isn't a formal declaration of war but Russia could take it as a reason to declare war themsel first... like if you think her saying that is not insanely dangerous, you're out of touch with reality.
Russia has already threattened to declare war on us if we don't stop delivering war equipment to Ukraine which we litterally just decided to send even more a few days prior to this incicent.

Just a gaff. To declare war the German parliament would have to vote. Wasn't so long ago that Sarah Palin threatened to bomb south Korea.
But we are essentially at war with Russia. Fun fact the United States hasn't officially been at war since ww2.

yeah cause they stopped calling it war. they always made up some bullshit reason to legitimate it as some form of fight against terror or human aid. nevertheless as a national foreign minister, you can't just blurt out that you're waging war against russia without a formal declaration of war. that is a huge desaster for international relations and if you don't see that as a serious issue, you're crazy naive.
like in a different geopolitical context, this might have not been a big deal. but not in the currently very heated climate we're having right now where putin already threattened opening war on germany if we continue supplying weapons to ukraine...
