Why do liberals care more about fighting Putin than ending homelessness?

Liberalism is a universal ideology, and therefore must be practiced in all corners of the world by definition. The issue of establishing "democracy" in a foreign country seems infinitely easier than ending a phenomena that has been around since the beginning of time, and has persisted despite LBJ's war on poverty.

To say it plainly, homelessness/ poverty is not going away, and Ukraine is a more fresh issue.

The other great thing about a war, is it helps you obfuscate everything else going on in your country while the media covers (and probably lies about) it 24/7.

Russia weakening itself in a war is also seen by more than a few in Washington as a net gain for the US on the world stage.

They don’t care more about Putin. However, which party typically kills any attempt to expand social programs designed to help the poor and homeless? Getting any Republican cooperation to pass something through Congress is literally impossible.

Good god, not everyone who opposes supporting the war in Ukraine is a Putin supporter. Guess some people don't comprehend there are anit-war people who both hate Putin and are against supporting a corrupt government.
