Does every Canadian speak French?

No they don't. Not fluently. It is in our schools and some kids have the choice to take French immersion in High School.

Fewer people speak French in the western provinces, whereas it is more prominent from Ontario eastward towards the maritime provinces. Quebec is predominantly French speaking and a good majority of New Brunswick is also French speaking. I believe parts of Nova Scotia are also French speaking too.

The majority of Canada was originally under France and was determined as New France. France was also in the USA at that time. Montreal was New France major City.

Britain came in and conquered the French around 1780. Montreal and those areas of New France are French original provinces. Those areas still speak French.

Most of Canada does not speak French.

No. If you walked into majority of the places in my city speaking french i think most people would look at you like you were crazy
