Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) stood up to yell “liar” as Republicans jeered President Biden for saying some in the GOP want to “sunset” Social Security and Medicare during his State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

“Instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share, some Republicans — some Republicans want Social Security and Medicare to sunset. I’m not saying it’s the majority,” Biden said.

The remarks were met with boos and jeers from the Republicans in attendance, with many shouting “no” and some chiming in with “liar.” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) shook his head as he sat behind the president at the podium, beside Vice President Harris.

Greene jabbed a thumbs down in the president’s direction and yelled “liar” after his comments.

I'm glad President Joe schooled those bitches.

I didn't watch the State of the Union Address.

I think President Biden is a liar even though he was accurate when he said that some Republicans want entitlements to sunset.

Just FYI, the republican party was against every worker's rights improvements. Republicans have always been afraid of communism whicgh they define as any form of income distribution aside from thoaswe they prefer, murder mostly. FDR instituted bank laws duriing the depression which was allowed by a stretch of the 3 worstr consecitive president's in history; Harding, Coolidge and Hoover. FDR also instuitured child labor laws, overtime ;laws and agrred with the right to organize and not the rich definition of"open shop" when Kennedy and Johnson institutred more, Medicare, and a variety of other bills the republicans screamed " this isn't a communist country its a democracy. Somehow it got by them that democracy was a political definition and communism an economic definition but the truth has never been terribly important to conservatives. What's amazing is that no one knows that if republicans had their way in Congress, social security, OSHA, medicare, Unemploymnent would never have existed. Now they all use the same things they fought against as planks in their platform. Full isclosure. many economic woes were created under the Cllinton regiume however the people. responsible- and they should be tried for treason. Phil and Wendy Gramm, republicans from Texas which are a special breed since they insist that nothing happens to unborn because life is sacred. Until they are born then they execute them , more than anywhere else in the civilized world. The Gramms pretty much ran Clinton's economic policy and argued vehemently that laws controlling banks, esp laws separating investment from commercial banks were prohibiting US banks from being competitive. The laws that kept this country from another depression were revoked and every banker went hog wild buting high instrument debt (CDOs) that had no discerible value at all and US taxpayers spent a loyt of mobney bailing out banks from their own stupid business decisions The woirst Califano w/ AIG Fuld, with Lehman,. all of Bear Stearns couldn't get enough of these very high yielding instrumwnts which like Drexel a decade earlier who made a fortune on junk bonds these were unkier than junk but id you're fgoing to get bailed out by the taxpayers. Though the great recession can be hande[d to Phil, Wendy &^ Co. Clinton gets no pass for NAFTA - an agreement that made PCs $29 cheaper but destroyed the manufacturing power of the greatest industrial nation on earth- ust happened to have put the American Dream beyond so many in the manufacturing states. Appalachia has a different but related story. Coal is goner, oil is gone. Chevron, the company that ripped out a fantSTIC mass transit in L. A and to a lesser extent No CA just so they could sell more gas. Coal had some of the most valiant unions but it was always company controlled and compAanies don't give a shit about pollution or mining dangers they ust want to get a sellable product out of the ground as quickly as possible. Marjorie Taylor Greene actually embarrassed many of the Republicans. She kept yelling and acting the bitch. If you watched carefully you would have noticed McCarthy directing his gaze at her and those with her being disruptive, and shaking his head "no"! McCarthy tried to stay seated when Biden scored big points, but most of the chamber was on its feet cheering and even McCarthy had to stand and applaud or look like an idiot! Probably one of the best State of the Union speeches ever, and all was true!

But I did notice what you said said as well when McCarthy was looking up at where Greene was supposedly. I even saw him mouth “Shhh… “ at one point looking in the same direction, and he appeared to nod agree with what Biden was saying. The only thing he disagreed with was when Biden said some Republicans were eying Medicare and social security. Not sure if that was when I saw him him shaking his head and saying, “Not true”. But Biden knows about 2 Reps who mentioned getting social security.
