In a positive development, special counsel Jack Smith has subpoenaed former Vice President Mike Pence to testify regarding Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
None of this stuff matters. It's all staged drama intended to make the public think that politicians are doing things in the best interest of the people. Since you asked about Trump, I'll keep my opinion focused on him. But just ask yourself this: if you did even one one hundredth of the things Trump did in the days leading up to the 2016 election and then as president and then after leaving office, would you be employable / respected?
One could argue that he got fired because he didn't get re-elected (according to him he didn't lose - but that's a debate for another time). But would you even have any chance of getting hired for a basic job that isn't anywhere as consequential as being the POTUS?00 Reply

+1 yBecause they are talking to VP... no.
I've heard this so many times it's not funny. He's more teflon than Clinton.
* Taxes released - meh
* All the prior law suits - meh
* Confidential documents - that was an issue until turned up at Bidens house as well... meh
* Womanizing - meh... he's married and has bunchof productive kids. meh
* Then start talking the country... if peoples lives are better or worse. All democrats will believe their lives are better... because they are "fighting global warming" and don't have to deal with pure evil. Would enough of them switch to vote republican... doubt it.
Plus he has others against him now that are republican, so goose is probably cooked. But I wouldn't count him out.
I'm not sure it will be relevant by the time 2 years rolls around. When country is at war, usually the sitting president wins. Ukraine war will be really hot mess by then.

@exitseven we can only hope, but I don't see people waking up to "smell the coffee". So they continue sitting in the outhouse, their mind convincing them it's full of roses.
But never say never... - +1 y
@exitseven Trump would "put an end to it" by appeasment. It wouldn't stop there.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yThere's a real attempt to stop hi running again. So it's more politically motivated than criminal. No former us president has ever been jailed, the only one successfully prosecuted was Bill clinton but he didn't get jail for his crime.
39 Reply- +1 y
Bill Clinton was successfully prosecuted for a crime? I don’t think I remember that.
Tell me, did you know anything about Trump before his stint on reality TV?
Opinion Owner+1 y@OrallyFixated clinton was prosecuted for perjury, he lied in court.
Trump had his finger in a lot pies building the brand- +1 y
Yeah, yeah, that’s right. He paid a fine, which is not out if the ordinary for such a crime. But he was prosecuted, so we know it is possible.
“Trump had his finger in a lot pies building the brand.” Yes? And?
Did you know anything about Trump before his stint on reality TV?

![Are things closing in for Trump finally?]()
Trump was very well known before that reality show came out. The guy is a working machine, and nothing has changed. It's a good read. - +1 y
@Gummy_Cluster
You were what, 4 when the Apprentice came out? Yeah, pretty sure you didn’t know shit about him before reality TV.
Want a “good read?” You should read about all the people he ripped off when building his “8th wonder of the world.”
And idea how many people lost their businesses as a result? How much money he held back from these working people? This has been his MO as businessman his entire life.
But you wouldn’t know that, would you?
Lol@what you recommend as a “good read.”
You do know that Trump never wrote that book right?
No, you probably don’t. - +1 y
@OrallyFixated
You are too filled with hate for me to ever talk to you again. I just pointed out that he was well known before the apprentice. You must be from Canada or the UK? Just please block me. Have a nice day. - +1 y
@Gummy_Cluster
Lmao
“Telling me the truth make you hate filled. I can’t handle it. Please block me, for I’m far too sensitive to do it myself.” 😱😫😢

Ask and you shall receive. I'm sorry that I'm not allowed to like books without your approval. Seek help. - +1 y
@Gummy_Cluster
Where the fuck would you get the idea that you need my approval? What specifically was said to makes you believe that?
26.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No , Trump is buoyed by his recent poll numbers that put him ahead of Biden if the election was today. He is planning his re election and has already made some appearances.

The only lie is that no Republican has said this. Rick Scott wrote it down: sunset them every 5 years (Republican control of just one house could make them go away for ever). Senator Ron Johnson says every year. Other Republican senators want to privatise it and raise the age of eligibility.
President Biden says that the Republicans want to cut or eliminate Medicare and Social Security. Is he right or wrong? ↗ - +1 y
@goaded Rick Scott proposed sunsetting ALL legislation, not just Social Security. He did not have SS in mind when he proposed that. He was thinking about all the wasteful programs that just go on forever even though it is determined to be a waste of money. Democrats will take anything and misrepresent it and the fake news will just parrot it back and guys like you just believe it.
- +1 y
@exitseven How can you know what Scott was thinking or not thinking? Did you speak to him and ask him?
- +1 y
@msc545 The Republican party has changed. It is more the party of the working class, the tax payers, the people who are raising kids, the people who are trying to put food on the table and gas in their cars. The democrats are the party of welfare recipients, government workers., special interest groups and criminals.
- +1 y
@exitseven It is the party of the rich, the war industry, the polluters, the tax cheats, and above all the warmongers and Wall street criminals.
Honestly, it doesn't seem likely. If they haven't found proof by now with ALL of the investigation they've already done; they aren't likely to find anything new by talking with Pence.
19 Reply- +1 y
@goaded Nixon was forcibly retired. And anyway, how could you possibly say I’m the one denying reality with a straight face, when you’re holding onto hope that Trump will be indicted one more time after EVERY single investigation into him by people who see the world the way you do has turned up absolutely nothing?
Even if you hate the guy, you have to acknowledge that he didn’t do the stuff you’re accusing him of. - +1 y
Nixon resigned because he knew he was guilty and he was going to be impeached. Trump doesn't care about the truth.
"Even if you hate the guy, you have to acknowledge that he didn’t do the stuff you’re accusing him of."
Bullshit, even if you love the guy reality says he did do all that. Hundreds of documents he stole from the government and refused to return (obstruction of justice), weeks of planning to steal the election, leading to Jan 6th, illegally pressuring officials to overturn the lawful election results, obstruction of justice that Barr refused to acknowlege let alone prosecute... - +1 y
@goaded god, there you go again with “obstruction of justice” claims. Dumbass. Trump was communicating with the FBI and dept of Archives about the handling of those exact documents.
You have such a stick up your ass about Trump that you are defending Nixon. You need a reality check, my friend. You’ve been duped, just come to grips with it already. - +1 y
Yes, Trump was communicating with the DoJ and saying he didn't have any more stolen documents. That was a lie and obstruction of justice.
I'm not defending Nixon, I'm pointing out that in the 1970's the Republican party still had more than a dozen honourable legislators and Nixon knew it.
