Filipinos, what do you think of Latin Americans?

I understand there is Spanish influence in the Philippines. when I met my ex husband in my 20s, he had a buddy who is Philippino. We went to pick him up from work. We were introduced. And I asked if he can speak Spanish. He was not happy and eventually him and his (Indian background) eventually wife stopped talking to us and didn’t want to invite us to their wedding.
go figures.. they hated me since I asked that question and stopped being friends with my ex husband.
because on a diff time.. my then boyfriend was in the hospital after a very serious surgery…I was by his side… they came to visit… complained that I didn’t step aside to let them get closer to him…if I recall there are two sides to the bed that they could go closer to him.
sometimes.. better to stay away from some “people”

my now ex husband told me he ran into his Philippino buddy…they never had kids and the wife battling with cancer.

I don’t know…by the way.. I am Chinese American. Learning that there are people who are very sensitive and I am just staying away from those who are not happy people.

Wow. I wonder if there is certain aversion to Spanish, in the Phillipines.

No idea. I don’t know much about the Philippines or the people. They don’t interest me. I did tried their food… still low quality. Not missing out here.
One thing for sure… they say how amazing their country is…yet all the women want to leave. Scratching my head.

I’m not Filipino, but I don’t care about people’s race or nationalities I like everybody just the way they are. 😄

That' funny. I have not seen anything more pissed than a Filipina to be asked if she is Mexican or Latin American... except for Thai asked if they are Filipina...

Lol. Well, fun fact. The Phillipines were under the virreinato of Nueva España (now: Mexico and US west coast states). There was interaction between both, and many from what was Nueva España, went to Phillipines to work on farming; and they stayed. So, Filipinos, at least some % of them, have mexican ancestry.

I don't know anyone from the Philippines and I'm not from Latin America. But it would be nice to meet someone from both places.
