+1 yWho knows, they have been deficit spending my entire life. They have no interest in balancing the budget, before long. The interest to service the debt will exceed military spending.
One day, people will stop buying bonds and if the US can't sell them, then they will have no way to fund the debt, beyond printing money. Which we know historically increases inflation. All they are doing is adding more that needs to be borrowed to give to other countries.
One day, SS will be unaffordable too, then the country will have forced spending cuts and people will riot.
What is going to Ukraine is technically not that much in the grand scheme of things, slightly more than pocket change. Sounds like a lot but isn't really.
For example, the fraud alone in government healthcare programs, annually is far more than what has been sent to Ukraine.
The FBI estimates there is $68 billion annually — about 3 percent of the nation's $2.26 trillion in health care spending. Other estimates range as high as 10 percent of annual health care expenditure, or $230 billion.
That is annually, for fraud.
I have no doubt a good chunk of what is going to Ukraine is also for fraud, everything the government does has lots of fraud and unaccounted for spending.
I would love it, if they would cut all foreign aid to all countries, and we become isolationists... but of all the wasted money, Ukraine is the only one I somewhat support and only due to Russia using rape as a weapon of war, openly using it with the Wagner group.
If they weren't doing that I'd say stay out of it.
The US can continue to print money and give it away to others or waste it on government programs for along as they can sell bonds and print it... however long that will be.

Well said, adding 2 cents. Note I just looked at my SS statement, which I don't collect yet... it was reduced by several hundred a month, ditto for others I know. Maybe that's how they are masking the upcoming "default showdown", but they control it and are already devaluing SS. Add to it how they calculate inflation and cost of living adjustment, and they are abusing older people. It's theft of wealth. They are doing what they always have... confiscate.
Sadly, people won't wake up.
I see the $ allocated to Ukraine, but there is no end in sight, count on another 100 billion this year, assuming they count all they are spending. My guess is that doesn't count our military re-alignment into the region.

+1 ySagester,
You have to remember that Jo Jo is NOT the president. China installed him, and the sheeple went along with it. I just learned yesterday that Trump signed an executive order to ban American companies from doing business with TikTok. (The Chinese spyware app) Jo Jo the clown reversed that executive order. Jo Jo the Clown abandoned the strategic Bagram air base in Afghanistan, and chose to withdraw troops from a commercial airport. What an idiot. And of course he refused to evacuate the civilians first. What an idiot. Sagester, the talking heads said that the Americans left behind didn't want to leave.

What a load of crap. Once we destroy a country, we go back and rebuild it. It's big money for the fat cats in America. So we had tons of private contractors in Afghanistan. Anything from doctors, nurses to construction workers. And this was a 20 year war, so if they had kids and wanted to see them grow up, they brought them over.
They lived in protective compounds, guarded by the best fighting force on the planet.
Then the dumbest president in history evacuates the fighting force, and leaves the contractors and their families behind.
Oh, and that Bagram airbase that Jo Jo the Clown abandoned, is now run by China. And all of those high tech planes and copters, are now gifts to China.

Technically it’s not tax payer money, it is printed out of thin air by the Federal Reserve and loaned to the US Federal Government. Since Russia is challenging the petro-dollar hegemony by selling natural gas to Europe in non-dollar currencies, the Federal Reserve, a private unelected corporation can and will print as much money as they need to from the ether in order to protect their own interests. They choose to fund a the military industrial complex to arm a puppet government which they installed via corrupt politicians under the Obama/Biden umbrella to ethnically cleanse Russian civilians and attack Russian interests to impede competition with their beloved petro-dollar debt ponzi scheme system. The more they print, the hotter inflation runs as the USD is devalued. The Federal Reserve is printing your purchasing power into nonexistence so that they can continue to control energy. They don’t give a fuck about you or America, they just want control over the money magic... America is just HQ because we have the military might to wage war on anyone that challenges the money system the Fed has created.

They will print us into hyper inflation and currency failure if that's what it takes to hold on to control. They will start WWIII and sacrifice millions of lives if that's what it takes to hold on to control. The only thing that stops this ugly ride is American citizens awakening and making a choice to kill the fed/central banking and take back control of our own currency as is outlined in The Constitution. The Fed will kill us all before they will give up power.
5.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Those who run the U. S. are in the process of gutting this country. As long as the multinational corporations and military get their money, the American people can eat shit.
They gave Russia no other choice than to take action against the Ukrainian government. It's funny to watch our "leaders" pretend to be shocked and to characterize Russia's moves as the result of irrational aggression by a brutal madman who wants to take over the world.
What would the U. S. do if Mexico aligned with BRICS and started installing biochemical labs and nuclear missiles on our border?
In the meantime the Ukrainian government sold out to neoliberalism and privatized everything so that wealthy investors and multinational corporations could gobble up its resources.
The U. S. threw the Ukrainian people under a bus and now claim to be defending them.
Now we have to help poor, besieged Ukraine, just like we pay Israel $150 billion+ every single year. It does NOT benefit America, but that's not the goal.10 Reply

+1 yNo, the aid is not unconditional. The terms that aid being provided to Ukraine by the United States are similar to the terms that the United States provided aid to Great Britain and the Soviet Union in World War II. The aid is being provided under the Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022.
Section 2(a)(3) states: (3) CONDITION.—Any loan or lease of defense articles to the Government of Ukraine under paragraph (1) shall be subject to all applicable laws concerning the return of and reimbursement and repayment for defense articles loan or leased to foreign governments.
The Soviet Union and Britain finally repaid their Lend Lease obligations off in 2006, some 71 years after the conclusion of WWII.20 Reply - 7.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yFinancially, as long as we can sell the bonds or inflate to purchase them. Noone knows how long that is. Push comes to shove, they could do another war bond drive in the USA like WWII. I'm sure they could just lie about the finances as well.
I suspect the other party starts to push back on expenses, but that's a double edged sword, since they would take the blame for failure.
It's insane, don't get me wrong. Yes we need that money and there are so many other causes to fight for in USA and the world. This should be resolved politically, but they are unable to do that.
10 Reply 6.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. For queue a while longer yet. We wasted trillions in Iraq and Afghanistan with no clear goal. Here we are protecting an ally from aggression by a rogue state led by a madman. If we capitulate in Ukraine, what's next? Poland? The Baltics? Finland? Azerbaijan and Armenia? Kazakhstan? Georgia?
20 Reply4.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. If they send it to Ukraine then it mean they have more than plenty of it so no they don't need it for America and if you think you can do lots of things with this money they send to Ukraine then even if they didn't send it there they would have never used it for helping American.
10 ReplyHard to say. But consider this, this US is arming Ukraine with military weapons, humvees, artillery, tanks, bullets, shells, rockets, stinger missles, bidy armor, kevlar helmets, javelins and possibly f16s, a4 skyhawks, f15s, F4 Phantoms fighter jets but the US has huge stockpiles of this stuff thats been sitting there for decades and the US military is about to replace it all in the next 5 years.

10 Reply Well it is a pro-LGBT, pro-black/Indian criminals' privilege war, right? Not something black, Hindu and LGBT America could afford to ignore, lest whites were to win and bring Bill Clinton's global hegemony of rapists, Indians, Blacks and LGBTs, to an end.

It's crippled the economy of America's most aggressive enemy, caused their population to go further into decline, and has the potential to take them out of the game for decades as they try to rebuild. All without costing American lives.
