When was the last time you were scammed, can you share your story?

I wanted out of this damn house so badly. So when this girl who showed me her face and ID claimed she had a room for me in a certain apartment. It's a certain price, she owns the place but her father is the manager of it but she's the daughter so it works. She sent me over things to sign, and I even looked at the place to make sure it was real. It was, so I was convinced. So $200 for the deposit, so I sent it over via paypal. Also said she's never there so it be like having the apartment to myself. But something happened... something that didn't click before.

-she's the manager and away but I found the assistant manager and her name doesn't exist. No one by that name works there, nor does the "father"
-to completely move in, i have to pay the $500 before August
-the pictures of the room were new. Very new. Too new.and last but not least, i looked into the name I was sending it to on paypal and it wasn't hers... it was a name you hear in fukin' nigeria.

Mother fucker. It was a scam. I even told her the assistant manager was some dude and he said he didn't know her. (it was a woman) And she said he's new... that sealed it. She was a liar and not real. Fun fact: Never got the money back but my mom wouldn't stfu about the measly $200. (i can make $200 back easily. Her views of money is disappointing. But i digress) So i told her I got the money back... just to shut her up about it.

A long long time ago in New York City I thought I was buying a switchblade in the streets. It turned out to be a Clark bar all wrapped up. It felt like a switchblade. It had the weight of a switchblade and I wanted to have a souvenir from the city, known for tough things, so I made the deal. The guy acted real nervous and said hide that thing put it away. It wasn’t very expensive, but it was the situation as a young man I didn’t like being scammed. Also, somebody else grabbed my wallet when I was asking about a switchblade, but I got it back.

I donated $200 to a person who had a very leakey damaged roof in the Dominican Republic through a video of a lady who is a strong patriot was telling what happend and that the lady needed financially help.

I'm not sure if she received all the money to help repair her roof or some of it.

Nevertheless, I take it as a lesson learned and besides the point it helps my country by me sending it money.
