Why do Republicans not like immigrants?

Me and my friends are good democrats, and we talked about this and my friends say Republicans are just white supremacist really, because they don't like a few million people coming in from the less fortunate countries.

They say "oh it'll cost a lot" but we're already saving a lot on stuff like medicaid, which was told to save 16 billion in 2023 and obviously now they are cutting in the pensions and ssc which are higher than they should be anyway

Americans should pay for their own doctors and schools, and generally cut back in their daily lives so we can help people in need. We have no rights to this land anyway. We just stole it from the indigenous

Republicans don't dislike immigrants. They dislike immigration, especially illegal immigration. That's something completely different.

Why? It's pure numbers. I think most people don't realize just how many people immigrate to the US each year. It has a tremendous impact on a lot of different things.

It impacts jobs. It impacts the economy as a whole. It impacts all kinds of infrastructure, likes roads, schools, hospitals, housing, energy production, police, fire, etc.

It dilutes our vote, and reduces our representation in government at every level. Think about it, in the US House we lost around 30 representatives since 2020. The same happens at every level of government.

It takes a tremendous amount of resources to provide everything needed for all those people. It takes a huge toll on the environment, and rapes the land to make room for everyone and provide all those resources.

The United States is vastly over populated and continues to grow at a rapid rate. The growth in US population is entirely due to immigration, not birth rate.

The thing is, that until recently, reducing immigration was a bipartisan issue. Both Democrats and Republicans were pushing for immigration reform. Bill Clinton campaigned on immigration reform.

But then the Democrats got the idea to play the race card. Suddenly it was about race. Democrats made it a race issue and accused Republicans of racism, with no evidence whatsoever. Democrats conveniently ignored that they were very recently doing exactly the same thing. They flipped practically over night.

It doesn't have a damn thing to do with race or the people themselves. Somehow liberals manage to completely ignore all the evidence and rational thought, and jump to conclusions with absolutely no evidence.

You lost me in the 2nd paragraph and the last we'd have to discuss.

You are what's known as, a legit good Democrat. That is, you have a heart, you care and... you are personally willing to sacrifice yourself to help others. So, I applaud you.

It's not about immigrants, we welcome immigrants all the time. It's ILLEGAL immigrants. We don't know whom they are, do they agree to the rules of our country, vaccines required, health regiments... are they paying taxes, etc etc etc..

Ask yourself, are you willing to take in some ILLEGAL immigrants? There's a lot of men coming in, all over the world... watch the videos. Who are these people, if there is even 1% terrorists... were going to have a problem.

We are also very expensive country to take people in. Cheaper to care for them in mexico.

That said, we need immigrants to grow, we need to manage our economy so we have housing, equitable job opportunities, prober care and support, and we know they will care for this country rather than do damage. Seems common sense right?

We should be helping people more. I've said this before, we should take over good chunks of south america! Rather than try to fit everyone into New york and texas, just take over their country if it is so bad, kill off the bad guys, and build economies there.

That probably means buying mexico or a big chunk... for a few dollars...

I think the problem is ilegal immigrants. Republicans want the number of immigrants regulated, the country needs immigration but a reasonable levels. We can't have the whole of central and south America emptying into the United States that would not be good for us or good for those countries they leave.

If you notice most of the States and towns that are democrats don't have to deal with the ilegal immigrant problem and are unwilling to share the burden. Look at what happened in Martha's vineyard, despite there litteraly being thousands of vacant rooms they locked the ilegals de santis sent there up in a church rather than welcoming them and had the national guard move them to s poorer area. Champagne socialism at work.

Your question is flawed many Republicans are immigrants, Republicans aren't against immigration they are against illegal immigration, there is a big difference.
Every American should be for law and order.

We love immigrants, but we don't like criminals or those who drain society. We welcome those who add to society. And we are even willing to help those who are currently a drain but show potential to eventually add. As long as they come here lawfully and honestly, I welcome them all.

My problem with the immigration is the two forms of the same word. “Legal “ and “Illegal!”
Apparently my definition is reversed.
If you are not a US citizen. Illegal means that it is ok 👌! If you are a US citizen. Legal and Constitutional means it isn’t OK!
