I am generally against the VA as an institution, its practical propose is of course to buy the loyalty/dependency of soldiers to the goverment. An unethical business practice to stay the least.

This could have been done with cash upfront or a mere pension thereafter to buy whatever insurance or service they required wherever they required.

As a rule the goverment being run by politicians accountable for every other thing does nothing efficiently nor equally.

Instead with most VA services disproportionately located in select areas of the country it is unjust to oblige veterans to congregate in such areas of the country where there are military bases simply so that they might get good service with their benefits.
