The earth is falling apart and all who stay will die. The last spaceship is leaving and you must choose the last 8 to leave - who do you choose from this group?

You must choose only eight out of these to be saved, described as:

Wow this is like weirdly specific but I'm here for it.

1- I would choose the medical student because they have at least some knowledge of medical attention which is important to the future.

2- Novelist because written records are important so if they have skill in writing, they will be important to the future.

3- International student because I assume they have the ability to take on multiple skills under high pressure environments and are somewhat intelligent since they literally travelled countries for education.

4- athlete because they probably have an abundance of information on how to take care of your body properly.

5- university administrator because I'm going to assume they're highly intelligent if they got to that level in their career.

6- native American because they tend to have a lot of traditions focused on natural/earth remedies which could be useful and language can be taught.

7- orphan because I'm out of logical options and children are the future.

8- pregnant wife because that counts as 2 additional people and it's important to have a motherly figure.

Toss-up between Famous novelist with a disability and Accountant with substance abuse problem, but I'd let the accountant go because his wife is going, he won't be able to get his drugs, and he's able-bodied.
