There are these 2 boys that I care about a LOT, yet I don't know who I care about more...

I've known this boy, let's call him P, for 2-3 years, and this other boy, let's call him J, for 1 year, I talk to P more, yet I see J more often. (That may sound weird, but it's okay!) I'm not sure whether to ask them about having a poly relationship or not, they know each other by the way. Please help. if you need any more info just message me.
